Full Confluence Trade Playbook: Seven Instruments, Three Styles, One Framework
Every setup below is the product of ten prior analyses. Positioning, macro, sentiment, volatility, setup radar, hot zones, global grid, institutional flow, options, and sector rotation all pointing at the same levels. This is the synthesis.
Thursday Context
SPX 7,362 at all-time highs. NAS 28,599. VIX 17.4 — elevated for an ATH session. SPY $6.46B dark pool accumulation Wednesday. NFP Friday is the binary event that resolves every open trade below. All sizing guidance reflects that reality. No trade below survives a strong NFP unmanaged.
NFP Binary Event — Friday
Soft (<150K): All longs extend. VX1 premium collapses. Rate cut narrative strengthens.
Strong (>200K): VIX through 19. SPX ATH becomes near-term top. GBP/USD below 1.35. Gold tests 4,600.
Rule: size down all Thursday longs before Friday open. Partial exits at T1 are not optional.

Advanced — swing with overnight exposure only if VIX stays below 18 at Thursday close. Exit all positions before NFP Friday open.

Gold
Confluence Score: HIGHEST ON BOARD (9/10)
Structural — beyond Iran truce ✓
10Y sticky 4.354% supports gold ✓
VIX 17.4 at ATH = unresolved macro ✓
DXY flat 98.0, no headwind ✓
+3.52% alongside ATH ✓
3.8:1 — best on the board ✓
| Style | Direction | Entry Zone | Stop | T1 | T2 | R:R | Sizing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scalp | Long | 4,650–4,665 | 4,630 | 4,710 | — | 3:1 | STANDARD |
| Intraday | Long | 4,640–4,660 | 4,610 | 4,750 | 4,800 | 3.8:1 | MAX |
| Swing | Long | 4,640–4,660 | 4,590 | 4,800 | 4,900 | 3.2:1 | STANDARD |
Three markets (vol, bonds, and gold itself) are sending a signal that equities at ATH are not confirming. Gold rising +3.52% on the same day equities hit records means the structural bid is not explained by risk-on sentiment alone. The framework reads this as an unresolved macro concern — the kind that sustains a gold bid regardless of daily equity direction.
Soft NFP accelerates gold toward 4,750+. Even strong NFP is unlikely to reverse the structural bid below 4,600.
Experience notes: Beginner and intermediate both suitable at intraday sizing. Swing viable for advanced with stop at 4,590.
Risk: ~35%.
GBP/USD
Confluence Score: STRONG (7/10)

Risk: ~40%.
EUR/USD
Confluence Score: LIMITED (4/10) — Avoid Longs
EU PPI 2.1% vs 1.8% = hot inflation. Spain PMI 47.9 = contraction. ECB cannot ease freely with inflation above target — this is the classic stagflation ceiling for a currency. Short bias on any rally to 1.1800–1.1820 with confirmation.

WTI Crude Oil
Confluence Score: AVOID (3/10) — No Fresh Positions
WTI -6.48% on Wednesday. The US-Iran truce removed the geopolitical supply risk premium that had been built into crude over weeks. This is not a technical dip — it is a structural recalibration. Fresh shorts after a -6.48% single-session move are low-probability. Fresh longs have no catalyst until multi-session base forms. Monitor only.
| Style | Direction | Watch Level | Action | Sizing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| All styles | Monitor only | WTI 100 = reassessment. WTI 95 = durable relief confirmed. | No action until base forms. Review after three-session consolidation below 97. | AVOID |

Bitcoin (BTC)
Confluence Score: NEUTRAL (3/10) — Monitor Only
BTC -0.5% on a day when equities hit ATH and semiconductors surged is a warning. Risk assets rallied while BTC lagged. The framework reads this as a signal that the crypto bid is not participating in the institutional AI thesis. No setup until 83,500 is reclaimed with volume, or 77,000 breaks with volume (short candidate). At 81,050, BTC is in no-man’s land.
| Style | Direction | Breakout Trigger | Support Break | Sizing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| All styles | Neutral | 83,500 with volume = long candidate | 77,000 with volume = short candidate | AVOID |

The One Rule for Thursday
Every setup above is valid on Thursday. None of them are valid into Friday open without a partial exit. The vol market has NFP event risk priced into the term structure. The bond market has not confirmed the dovish narrative equities are pricing. That divergence resolves on Friday. Trade Thursday for Thursday — not for the move you hope follows NFP.
