EUR/GBP – Daily Read

25 October 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
0.8375

EUR/GBP remains under pressure at 0.8375 despite finishing the last session 0.1 percent higher, because that modest rebound has not altered a structure that still favors sterling over the euro. The cross is down near the floor of its one-month range, which means the market is testing whether recent weakness is becoming exhausted or preparing to extend. The clear view is cautious and bearish while price remains beneath the levels that defined the latest decline, with any recovery initially treated as stabilization rather than a durable turn.

The one month average at 0.8463 matters because price is below it, and the structure reads as a downtrend, price under both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum roughly 1.0 percent down over the last two weeks reinforces that message, which means the pressure has been persistent rather than confined to one volatile session. The macro link is the relative outlook for the euro area and the United Kingdom, because EUR/GBP expresses the difference between those two currencies rather than broad dollar direction. The month swing high at 0.8612, about 2.8 percent above the current price, shows how far the balance has shifted away from the euro.

The immediate shelf of support at 0.8361, about 0.2 percent below, is pivotal because it is both the lower boundary of the three month range 0.8361 to 0.8612 and the nearest place where demand has previously contained weakness. Holding that shelf would keep the cross range-bound and leave room for a corrective recovery. The nearer round number handle at 0.8400 is the first resistance test because reclaiming it would show that pressure near the floor is being absorbed, although it would not by itself reverse the broader decline. At the other extreme, 0.8612 is major resistance because it marks the range ceiling and the point from which the current structure would materially change. The lower round number handle at 0.8200 matters because there is little supplied price structure between it and the current floor.

The bull path is straightforward: if 0.8361 continues to hold and price reclaims 0.8400, then the market can begin rebuilding toward 0.8463 because acceptance above the one month average would weaken the bearish structure. If that recovery then clears 0.8612 decisively, the three month ceiling has failed, which means the path opens toward 0.8812. The bear path is equally clear: if rebounds remain capped beneath 0.8400 and 0.8463, then pressure stays concentrated on 0.8361 because participants have little evidence of a sustained turn. Losing 0.8361 exposes 0.8200, with the range breakdown likely to reinforce the existing direction.

The principal risk to the bearish read is a sharp change in relative currency expectations, because EUR/GBP can reprice quickly when the perceived advantage between sterling and the euro shifts. A sustained recovery through 0.8463 would challenge the immediate view, while a decisive move above 0.8612 would invalidate it and redirect attention to 0.8812. Conversely, failure at 0.8400 followed by a break of 0.8361 would confirm renewed downside pressure. Net, the cross remains bearish but stretched near support, which means conviction should come from the resolution of 0.8361 rather than from the last session’s small rebound.
