US Dollar Index (DXY) – Daily Read

1 November 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$101.93

The US Dollar Index is consolidating within an underlying advance, but the near-term balance is less convincing than the 0.1 percent higher last session suggests. At 101.93, DXY remains in the lower half of its one-month range, which means the dollar has yet to recover the stronger positioning seen earlier in the month. The clear view is cautiously constructive rather than outright bullish because the longer trend still points up, while current price action shows that demand is not yet strong enough to restore full upside control.

The immediate tension is between resilient dollar demand and a pullback that has not fully run its course. The one month average is 102.04; price is below it, and the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. Price is roughly 0.2 percent up over the last two weeks, which means underlying demand has survived despite the recent loss of altitude. Broader macro uncertainty can keep defensive demand for the dollar alive, but the instrument-specific catalyst is whether DXY can reclaim nearby overhead ground and convert consolidation into renewed trend continuation.

The first pivot is 102.00 because it is the nearer round number handle and sits close enough to current price to define whether short-term pressure is easing. Holding above it would improve the tone, but the more important resistance is the month swing high at 102.94, about 1.0 percent above the current price. That ceiling marks the point where the previous advance stalled, which means a decisive move above it would show that supply has been absorbed and open the path toward 104.00. On the downside, a shelf of support at 101.45, about 0.5 percent below, matters because it is the nearest area capable of defending the broader advance. Beneath that shelf, the round number handle at 100.00 becomes a psychological reference, while the full three month range of 98.56 to 102.94 shows how much room could reopen if the pullback accelerates.

The bull path is straightforward: if DXY stabilizes above 102.00, reclaims 102.04, and then presses decisively through 102.94, the pullback has likely ended and 104.00 becomes the next logical destination because the market would have cleared the range ceiling. The bear path begins if rebounds repeatedly fail beneath 102.00 and 102.04, then support at 101.45 gives way. Losing 101.45 exposes 98.56, which means the move would no longer look like a contained pause within an advance but like a deeper unwinding across the three-month span.

The main risk to the constructive view is continued rejection below 102.04 because that would confirm that the prior trend is losing practical influence even if it still points higher. A decisive break of 101.45 would invalidate the near-term bullish case, while failure to hold 100.00 would reinforce the shift toward 98.56. Conversely, sustained acceptance above 102.94 would invalidate the bearish path and strengthen the case for 104.00. Net, DXY retains an upward bias, but conviction belongs above resistance, while the defense of support determines whether this remains a pullback or becomes a broader reversal.
