Ethereum (ETH) – Daily Read

$2,234.38
Ethereum is testing a consequential area at $2,234 after finishing the last session 1.2 percent lower, and the near-term view remains bearish because price is down near the floor of its one-month range rather than stabilising around the middle of it. That matters because weakness at the bottom of an established range can shift from controlled pressure into acceleration if nearby support fails. The clear view is that Ethereum still needs to prove that demand can absorb supply here, with resilience judged by whether it can recover nearby handles and hold them rather than merely print a brief rebound.
The immediate catalyst is persistent relative weakness within crypto, where confidence and liquidity can retreat quickly when a major token cannot sustain recovery attempts. Ethereum is roughly 7.4 percent down over the last two weeks, which means recent pressure has enough continuity to keep participants defensive. The one month average is $2,443, and price is below it, while the structure reads as a downtrend because price is under both its one-month and longer averages. Broader risk appetite matters only insofar as it affects crypto liquidity, because Ethereum currently lacks evidence of an instrument-specific reversal strong enough to override that backdrop.
The first nearby reference is $2,250, which matters because reclaiming and holding that round number would show that the latest decline is being absorbed rather than extended. The $2,200 handle is the next immediate defence because sustained trade beneath it would place pressure directly on the shelf of support at $2,182, about 2.4 percent below. That shelf is the key line for the current read because it separates a weak market that is still contained from one breaking into a deeper range. Above, the month swing high at $2,766, about 23.8 percent above the current price, is the decisive resistance because clearing it would overturn the sequence of failed recoveries. The wider Three month range is $1,829 to $2,805, which means both the downside and upside triggers connect directly to established extremes rather than arbitrary projections.
The bull path is straightforward: if Ethereum defends $2,182, regains $2,200 and $2,250, then establishes acceptance above $2,443, the pressure should ease because price would be rebuilding control through each nearby obstacle. If that recovery develops into a decisive move above $2,766, it opens the path toward $2,805, which means the downtrend thesis would no longer fit the observed structure. The bear path is equally clear: if rebounds fail beneath $2,250 and price loses $2,182, then $1,829 becomes exposed because the principal shelf protecting the lower boundary of the broader range would have given way.
The main risk to the bearish view is a rapid crypto-wide recovery that carries Ethereum through resistance before cautious positioning can adjust, because compressed markets can reverse sharply once supply is absorbed. Conversely, repeated defence of $2,182 would weaken the case for immediate continuation even without a full trend change, while sustained strength above $2,443 would invalidate the assumption that every rebound remains corrective. Net, Ethereum remains vulnerable below its key averages, but the read is conditional rather than absolute: defence near support can create a recovery, while a confirmed break lower would materially deepen the damage.
Key levels: support $2,182 (2.4% below), resistance $2,766 (23.8% above), one-month average $2,443, three-month range $1,829 to $2,805.
