XRP – Daily Read
28 August 2026 | Crypto | Titan Macro Desk
$1.42
XRP is correcting within a still constructive trend, not yet reversing it. Last price $1.42, 2.3 percent lower on the day. That decline deserves respect after a forceful advance, but it is holding in the upper half of its one-month range. The clear view is that buyers retain structural control while price holds nearby support, although the market now needs consolidation or a fresh catalyst before extending higher. This matters because strong trends often become vulnerable when short-term positioning runs ahead of conviction.
The macro backdrop is balanced but slightly less friendly for speculative assets. Hotter European inflation prints in France and Spain lifted near term rate expectations, while steady Japanese labour data and modest upside in Tokyo CPI kept the BoJ policy path intact. Dollar strength followed as EURUSD and GBPUSD both fell over half a percent. For crypto, that firmer dollar creates a mild headwind, especially into the weekend when liquidity can thin. XRP nevertheless enters that environment with meaningful relative strength. Momentum is roughly 41.7 percent up over the last two weeks, suggesting the current weakness is partly profit-taking after a sharp repricing rather than evidence that demand has disappeared.
The one month average $1.18 remains the key structural reference beneath the market. Price is above it, and the structure reads as a clean uptrend, price above both its one-month and longer averages. Holding above that reference would preserve the pattern of buyers accepting progressively higher prices. Closer to spot, the nearer round number handles at $1.45 and $1.40 define the immediate contest. Reclaiming $1.45 would show that sellers cannot press the daily decline, while defending $1.40 would keep the pullback orderly. A sustained loss of $1.40 would weaken that message and increase the chance of a deeper reset toward the broader trend base.
The month swing high $1.54, about 8.6 percent above the current price, is the decisive upside barrier because it marks the point where supply last halted the advance. The three month range $0.99 to $1.54 frames the larger battle. At the lower boundary, a shelf of support at $0.99, about 30.3 percent below, represents the foundation of the entire move. Buyers should defend it aggressively because failure there would convert a controlled retracement into structural damage.
The bull path is straightforward: if XRP holds $1.40, reclaims $1.45, and absorbs supply at the range ceiling, then a decisive move above $1.54 opens the path toward $1.59. That sequence would confirm continued acceptance above the prior range rather than a brief breakout attempt. The bear path begins if $1.40 fails and rebounds cannot recover it. That would invite a broader unwind, with the trend becoming progressively less secure beneath $1.18. Ultimately, losing $0.99 exposes $0.94.
Weekend liquidity, dollar strength, and profit-taking after the rapid advance are the immediate risks. The constructive read is invalidated by sustained trade below the range floor, not merely by volatility around nearby handles. Net, XRP remains bullish in structure but tactically stretched, with $1.40 determining whether this is healthy consolidation or the start of a deeper correction.
