STOXX 600 (SXXP) – Daily Read
24 October 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk
635.8
The STOXX 600 is consolidating rather than reversing its broader weakness, with the last price at 635.8 after finishing the last session 0.3 percent lower. It is sitting mid-range over the past month, which means neither side has control at current levels. The clear view is cautiously bearish while price remains beneath the key overhead zone, because recent resilience has not yet repaired the downtrend.
SXXP represents the broad index of 600 European companies, not the more concentrated Euro Stoxx 50, so its behavior reflects conditions across a wide mix of European sectors and markets. That breadth matters because shifting expectations around regional growth, policy and corporate earnings can produce rotation beneath a relatively quiet headline index. Momentum is roughly 1.6 percent up over the last two weeks, but that improvement looks more like stabilization within a weak structure than a decisive change in direction.
The one month average is 636.3, and price is below it, while the structure reads as a downtrend because price remains under both its one-month and longer averages. The nearby 640.0 handle is therefore the first meaningful resistance test. A sustained move through it would show that demand can absorb supply above the average and would improve the short-term tone. Failure there would reinforce the idea that rebounds are still being contained. The 630.0 handle is the nearest support reference, which means holding it would preserve the recent stabilization, while repeated closes below it would shift attention toward the lower shelf.
The month swing high at 645.7 sits about 1.6 percent above the current price and is the decisive resistance level because it marks the point where the latest recovery previously failed. A decisive move above 645.7 opens the path toward 663.4, the upper boundary of the three month range of 622.9 to 663.4. That would change the read from consolidation inside a downtrend to a broader recovery attempt. On the downside, a shelf of support at 622.9 stands about 2.0 percent below, and it matters because it is also the floor of that three month range. Losing 622.9 exposes 620.0 and would confirm renewed downside pressure.
The bull path is straightforward: if SXXP holds 630.0, reclaims 636.3 and sustains trade above 640.0, then pressure can build against 645.7. If 645.7 breaks decisively, then 663.4 becomes the logical next area because the market would have cleared the month swing high and opened the upper part of its established range. The bear path begins if 636.3 and 640.0 continue to reject advances. If that weakness pushes price through 630.0, then 622.9 becomes exposed; if 622.9 fails, then 620.0 comes into view.
The main risk to the bearish lean is a decisive move above 645.7, because that would invalidate the sequence of capped rebounds and materially improve the structure toward 663.4. Conversely, a loss of 622.9 would invalidate the stabilization case and strengthen the downside view toward 620.0. Net, 635.8 leaves SXXP caught between nearby support and resistance, but the burden remains on the bulls while price stays below 636.3 and the broader downtrend remains intact.
Key levels: support 622.9 (2.0% below), resistance 645.7 (1.6% above), one-month average 636.3, three-month range 622.9 to 663.4.
