Gold (XAU/USD) – Daily Read
5 November 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk
$4,133.30
Gold at $4,133, 1.4 percent higher in the last session, is attempting to turn recovery into trend while holding in the upper half of its one-month range. The move matters because price has regained an important short-term reference point without yet clearing the longer-term restraint, leaving the market constructive but not confirmed. The clear view is cautiously bullish while $4,100 holds, with conviction increasing only when overhead supply is absorbed.
The immediate context is improving price persistence rather than a single-session surge. Momentum is roughly 2.3 percent up over the last two weeks, which means demand has continued beyond the latest advance. The one month average is $4,083; price is above it, and the structure reads as a recovery attempt, back above the one-month average but still under the longer one. The macro backdrop matters only where shifts in the dollar and real-rate expectations alter demand for gold, because those forces can either reinforce this recovery or expose its lack of longer-term confirmation.
The nearer round number handles at $4,200 and $4,100 define the first contest. Holding $4,100 would show that recent strength is being defended because pullbacks would remain above both that handle and the one month average at $4,083. Reclaiming $4,200 would then reduce the distance to the month swing high at $4,259, about 3.0 percent above the current price, where prior supply is likely to test follow-through. Below, a shelf of support at $3,885, about 6.0 percent below, is critical because it is also the floor of the three month range $3,885 to $4,755. That range is wide, which means the market still carries meaningful two-way volatility despite the improving short-term structure.
The bull path is straightforward: if $4,100 continues to hold, then pressure can rebuild through $4,200; if that strength produces a decisive move above $4,259, it opens the path toward $4,755 because the market would have cleared the recovery high and gained room to revisit the top of the three month range. The bear path begins if $4,100 fails and price slips back through $4,083, which means the recovery attempt has lost its immediate foundation. If weakness then reaches and loses $3,885, it exposes $3,785 because the range floor would no longer be containing supply.
The main risk is a false break above $4,259 followed by a retreat beneath $4,200, because that would show that apparent strength had not secured acceptance. A sustained loss of $4,083 would weaken the constructive view, while losing $3,885 would invalidate it and shift attention to $3,785. Conversely, firm trade above $4,259 would invalidate the cautious part of the stance. Net, gold has a constructive recovery bias at $4,133, but $4,100 must remain defended and $4,259 must give way before the move can credibly extend toward $4,755.
Key levels: support $3,885 (6.0% below), resistance $4,259 (3.0% above), one-month average $4,083, three-month range $3,885 to $4,755.
