EUR/USD – Daily Read

1.1187
EUR/USD is attempting to stabilize at 1.1187 after finishing the last session 0.2 percent higher, but the broader message remains cautious because the pair is sitting mid-range over the past month while still trading below the levels that would signal a durable shift in control. The rebound matters, yet it currently looks more like consolidation within weakness than the start of a sustained advance. The clear view is neutral near term and bearish beneath resistance, with confirmation required before treating euro strength as more than tactical.
The immediate macro transmission runs through relative rate expectations and demand for dollars versus euros, which means any repricing of that relationship can quickly amplify the current directional pressure. The one month average is 1.1199, and price is below it, while the structure reads as a downtrend because price remains under both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum is roughly 0.2 percent down over the last two weeks, reinforcing the sense that the latest positive session has not yet repaired the underlying loss of traction.
The nearest decision point is the 1.1200 round number handle, which matters because reclaiming and holding it would place price back above the one month average at 1.1199 and improve the tone. Above there, the month swing high at 1.1288 stands about 0.9 percent above the current price. That level represents the boundary between an orderly rebound and a meaningful reversal because a decisive move through it would clear the most relevant recent ceiling. On the downside, a shelf of support at 1.1114 sits about 0.7 percent below. It carries added weight because it is also the lower edge of the three month range from 1.1114 to 1.1715. The deeper 1.1000 round number handle is the next important reference if that shelf fails.
The bull path is straightforward: if EUR/USD establishes itself above 1.1200, then the pressure created by trading below the one month average should ease, which means attention can shift toward 1.1288. If the pair then makes a decisive move above 1.1288, the path opens toward 1.1715 because the month’s swing ceiling would have given way and the upper end of the three month range would become relevant again. The bear path begins if attempts to recover 1.1200 repeatedly fail. If that rejection is followed by a loss of 1.1114, then 1.1000 is exposed because the floor of the three month range would no longer be containing weakness.
The main risk to the cautious read is a clean and sustained break above 1.1288, which would invalidate the idea that the latest rise is merely consolidation and would argue for a broader euro recovery toward 1.1715. Conversely, continued trade below 1.1199 followed by failure at 1.1114 would strengthen the downtrend and bring 1.1000 into focus. Net, 1.1200 can improve the tone, but 1.1288 must break before control convincingly shifts away from the bears.
Key levels: support 1.1114 (0.7% below), resistance 1.1288 (0.9% above), one-month average 1.1199, three-month range 1.1114 to 1.1715.
