EUR/USD – Daily Read

31 October 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
1.1169

EUR/USD is leaning lower, not collapsing, with the last price at 1.1169 after finishing the last session 0.1 percent lower. It is trading in the lower half of its one-month range, which means the balance of recent positioning remains defensive rather than neutral. The structure reads as a downtrend, with price under both its one-month and longer averages, so the burden of proof sits with the bullish side. The clear view is that downside pressure remains dominant while nearby support is vulnerable, but the limited session decline shows that conviction still needs confirmation.

The macro backdrop matters because EUR/USD responds directly to shifts in relative rate expectations and demand for dollars, but the instrument-specific message is already visible in price. Momentum is roughly 0.6 percent down over the last two weeks, while the one month average at 1.1201 remains above spot. That combination matters because rebounds are failing to restore the pair to its recent center of gravity. The nearer round number handle at 1.1200 reinforces that area as immediate resistance, which means a recovery through it would be the first sign that downside pressure is losing control rather than merely pausing.

The first meaningful defense is the shelf of support at 1.1114, about 0.5 percent below, because it is also the floor of the Three month range at 1.1114 to 1.1715. Holding that shelf would show that longer-horizon demand remains active despite the weaker short-term structure. Losing it would remove a repeatedly visible floor and expose the nearer round number handle at 1.1000, which means the decline could accelerate as the market searches for a fresh area of balance. Above spot, the month swing high at 1.1340, about 1.5 percent above the current price, is the decisive resistance because clearing it would overturn the recent sequence of weakness.

The bull path is straightforward: if EUR/USD reclaims 1.1200, then establishes itself above the one month average at 1.1201, pressure can rotate toward 1.1340 because the market would have recovered both its round-number pivot and recent mean. If a decisive move above 1.1340 follows, it opens the path toward 1.1715, which means the broader range ceiling becomes relevant again. The bear path is equally clear: if rebounds remain capped below 1.1200 and 1.1201, then another test of 1.1114 is likely because the prevailing structure remains lower. If losing 1.1114 follows, it exposes 1.1000 and confirms that support has failed.

The main risk to the bearish read is a sustained recovery above 1.1340, because that would invalidate the current downtrend interpretation and shift control toward 1.1715. The opposing risk is that a break below 1.1114 becomes disorderly rather than incremental, which means 1.1000 could come into view quickly. Net, EUR/USD remains defensively positioned below 1.1200 and 1.1201, with 1.1114 the key line separating contained weakness from a deeper bearish extension.
