EUR/USD – Daily Read

15 October 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
1.1216

EUR/USD is staging a recovery, but the broader structure remains bearish. Last price 1.1216 leaves the pair 0.5 percent higher on the last session, yet it is trading in the lower half of its one-month range. That matters because one firm session has not repaired the sequence of weaker positioning beneath the range midpoint. The clear view is cautiously bearish while the pair remains trapped near its lower boundary, with the latest rise better read as stabilization than a confirmed reversal.

The macro transmission runs through relative rate expectations and dollar demand, which means EUR/USD needs a sustained shift in that balance rather than a brief improvement in risk appetite to establish a durable recovery. The one month average at 1.1298 remains above price, and the structure reads as a downtrend because price is under both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum is roughly 0.3 percent down over the last two weeks, reinforcing the idea that upward attempts still face an established current rather than open water. The month swing high at 1.1559 sits about 3.1 percent above the current price, which means substantial repair is required before euro strength becomes the dominant story.

The immediate contest is around the nearer round number handle at 1.1200 because it separates a stable base from renewed pressure toward the range floor. Holding above it would give the latest recovery room to extend, while repeated failures around it would show that even modest rebounds lack sponsorship. A shelf of support at 1.1117, about 0.9 percent below, is more consequential because it has also defined the bottom of the three month range 1.1117 to 1.1715. On the upside, 1.1400 is the nearer round number handle that matters as resistance, since reclaiming it would place price back into a healthier part of the recent distribution and reduce the immediate bearish pressure.

The bull path is straightforward: if 1.1200 continues to hold and EUR/USD clears 1.1400 with persistence, then the market can challenge 1.1559 because that sequence would show support strengthening while overhead supply is being absorbed. A decisive move above 1.1559 opens the path toward 1.1715, which means the recovery would have moved beyond repair and into a broader reversal attempt. The bear path is equally clear: if 1.1200 fails and rebounds cannot reclaim it, then pressure should rotate toward 1.1117 because the lower boundary would become the next meaningful defense. Losing 1.1117 exposes 1.1000, which means the three-month floor has failed and the downtrend has resumed with fresh range expansion.

The principal risk to the bearish lean is a sustained recovery through 1.1400 followed by acceptance above 1.1559 because that would invalidate the view that recent strength is merely corrective. Conversely, a brief move under 1.1117 that quickly recovers would warn against treating the first breach as decisive. Net, EUR/USD remains vulnerable while below 1.1298 and capped by 1.1400, with 1.1117 carrying the decisive burden for whether weakness stays contained or extends toward 1.1000.
