EUR/GBP – Daily Read

3 November 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
0.8343

EUR/GBP at 0.8343 is pressing the lower edge of its recent range while remaining little changed on the session (under 0.05%). That surface calm matters because it follows sustained deterioration rather than a meaningful recovery. The cross is down near the floor of its one-month range, and the balance of risk remains tilted lower until price can reclaim the levels that would show sterling’s relative strength is fading.

The structure reads as a downtrend, with price below its one month average at 0.8404 and under both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum roughly 0.7 percent down over the last two weeks confirms that the pressure has been persistent rather than confined to one volatile session. The broader macro backdrop matters only through the relative outlook for the euro area and the UK, because EUR/GBP responds to changes in that comparison rather than to general risk appetite alone. The month swing high at 0.8505, about 1.9 percent above the current price, shows how far the euro would need to recover before the present directional view materially improves.

The first important defense is the shelf of support at 0.8321, about 0.3 percent below. It matters because it is also the floor of the three month range at 0.8321 to 0.8612, which means sustained trade beneath it would represent a genuine range failure rather than routine noise. The nearer round number handle at 0.8400 is initial resistance because it sits close to the one month average at 0.8404, creating an area where rebounds must prove they have real follow-through. Above there, 0.8505 is the decisive resistance, while 0.8612 marks the upper boundary that comes into play only after the month swing high has been cleared. On the downside, 0.8200 is the next round number handle and becomes relevant if the existing floor gives way.

The bull path is clear: if 0.8321 continues to hold and price regains 0.8400, then the immediate pressure begins to ease because the cross would be moving back through the nearest resistance zone. If that recovery extends into a decisive move above 0.8505, then it opens the path toward 0.8612, which means the downtrend has transitioned into a broader range recovery. The bear path is equally direct: if rebounds fail beneath 0.8400 and the cross loses 0.8321, then 0.8200 is exposed because the three month floor would no longer be defending the market.

The main risk to the bearish view is a sharp reversal in the relative euro and sterling outlook, especially if price can establish itself above 0.8404 and then overcome 0.8505. That would invalidate the assumption that rebounds remain corrective because the market would have reclaimed both its recent average and its defining swing high. Conversely, repeated defense of 0.8321 without a recovery above 0.8400 would leave the cross compressed but still vulnerable. Net, 0.8343 keeps EUR/GBP close to breakdown territory, with 0.8321 controlling the immediate direction and 0.8505 controlling whether the broader bearish read survives.
