Silver (XAG/USD) – Daily Read
5 November 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk
$51.73
Silver is pressing the lower end of its recent range, with the last price at $51.73 after finishing the last session 1.2 percent lower. The immediate read remains bearish because it is down near the floor of its one-month range, while repeated failure to regain nearby handles shows that defensive positioning still dominates. This matters because weakness near a range floor can either produce a sharp stabilization or accelerate quickly if underlying support gives way.
The macro backdrop reinforces that pressure in one sentence: German factory orders rose 4.4% after a 10.1% drop, EA construction PMI printed 42.5, and DXY climbed 0.1% to 101.61, which means an uneven growth picture and firmer dollar are limiting appetite for commodity exposure. Silver’s own structure is the more important driver because the one month average stands at $54.98, price is below it, and the structure reads as a downtrend, price under both its one-month and longer averages. Price is also roughly 5.3 percent down over the last two weeks, which means downside momentum remains established rather than merely reflecting a weak session.
The first tactical battleground is the nearer round number handles at $52.00 and $51.00 because they frame whether pressure is stabilizing or extending. Holding $51.00 would defend the current range floor and give price room to reclaim $52.00, while sustained trade above $52.00 would begin to reduce immediate downside pressure. The more consequential shelf of support sits at $49.13, about 5.0 percent below, because it is also the bottom of the three month range $49.13 to $71.65. On the upside, the month swing high at $62.46, about 20.7 percent above the current price, is major resistance because clearing it would overturn the sequence of lower pricing and signal that demand has regained control.
The bull path requires stabilization above $51.00 followed by a firm recovery through $52.00, because that sequence would show the market absorbing pressure before challenging the one month average at $54.98. If price then sustains strength above $54.98, the downtrend would begin to loosen and attention would shift toward $62.46. A decisive move above $62.46 opens the path toward $71.65, which means the full three month range would become relevant again. The bear path is more immediate: if $51.00 fails and rebounds remain capped beneath $52.00, then pressure should concentrate on $49.13. Losing $49.13 exposes $48.13, because the established range floor would no longer be containing supply.
The principal risk to the bearish view is a rapid reclaim of $54.98 followed by acceptance above $62.46, because that would invalidate the current downtrend and demonstrate a material change in control. Conversely, resilience around $51.00 alone would not complete a reversal while price remains below $54.98. The net take is defensive: $49.13 is the critical line holding the broader range together, while only sustained progress through $52.00 and $54.98 would make the silver outlook meaningfully less bearish.
Key levels: support $49.13 (5.0% below), resistance $62.46 (20.7% above), one-month average $54.98, three-month range $49.13 to $71.65.
