Copper – Daily Read

5 November 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$6.41

Copper at $6.41 is testing whether weakness is becoming exhaustion or preparing another leg lower, and the balance still leans bearish because the last session finished 0.2 percent lower while price sits down near the floor of its one-month range. The location matters more than the modest daily move: pressure has carried the market into an area where a small loss of support could accelerate liquidation, yet failure to extend lower would show that negative positioning is becoming crowded. The clear view is cautious below nearby resistance, with greater downside risk unless price can reclaim ground decisively.

The wider macro backdrop matters through copper’s sensitivity to growth expectations and physical demand, which means shifting confidence in industrial activity can quickly amplify moves already developing in the metal. The one month average is $6.55, and price is below it because the structure reads as a downtrend, with price under both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum is roughly 0.08 percent up over the last two weeks, which means the recent decline is losing some force but has not yet produced a convincing reversal. That tension explains the current compression: weak structure is meeting tentative stabilization close to the range floor.

The nearer round number handles at $6.60 and $6.40 define the immediate contest because they separate recovery from renewed pressure. Holding around $6.40 keeps the market close enough to stabilize, while $6.60 is resistance that must be recovered before the tone can improve materially. A shelf of support at $6.38, about 0.4 percent below, is the more important defensive line because it is close enough to be tested without a major shock. Above, the month swing high at $6.79, about 6.0 percent above the current price, marks the point where the downtrend would face genuine invalidation. The broader three month range of $6.10 to $6.93 shows what is at stake, which means the current price remains in its lower half with meaningful room in either direction.

The bull path is straightforward: if $6.38 holds, then a recovery through $6.40 can challenge $6.55, and acceptance above that average would make $6.60 the next test because reclaiming those layers would show that supply is being absorbed. If strength then delivers a decisive move above $6.79, it opens the path toward $6.93, which means the market would have cleared the month’s defining resistance and challenged the upper boundary of the broader range. The bear path is equally clear: if rallies fail beneath $6.55 and $6.60, then pressure remains dominant, and losing $6.38 exposes $6.10 because the shelf protecting the range floor would no longer be intact.

The principal risk to the bearish read is a sharp recovery that holds above $6.60 and then clears $6.79, because that sequence would replace lower-range pressure with expanding upside participation. Conversely, a brief move under $6.38 that immediately recovers would not confirm the bear case, which means sustained acceptance below support matters more than an isolated breach. Net, $6.41 leaves copper vulnerable, with stabilization possible but the burden of proof still on the upside until resistance is reclaimed.
