EUR/USD – Daily Read

3 November 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
1.1197

EUR/USD at 1.1197 is attempting to recover, but the move lacks enough force to declare a durable turn because the last session was little changed on the session (under 0.05%) and momentum is roughly 0.4 percent down over the last two weeks. The pair is sitting mid-range over the past month, which means neither side controls the tape. The clear view is cautiously constructive above nearby support, while conviction requires resistance to give way.

The broader currency backdrop remains sensitive to shifting expectations around relative European and US growth and policy, but EUR/USD is currently being driven more directly by whether its recovery can attract sustained demand above 1.1200 because that handle sits almost exactly on the current market. The one month average is 1.1197; price is above it, and the structure reads as a recovery attempt, back above the one-month average but still under the longer one. That distinction matters because regaining the shorter reference stabilizes the euro without yet proving that the broader pressure has cleared.

The immediate test is the nearer round number handle at 1.1200 because acceptance above it would show that the market can hold ground beyond the current balance area rather than merely trade through it. The month swing high at 1.1279, about 0.7 percent above the current price, is the more important resistance because it marks where the previous advance ran out of demand. A decisive move above 1.1279 opens the path toward 1.1715, which means the recovery would graduate into a broader range expansion rather than remain a short-term repair.

On the downside, a shelf of support at 1.1114, about 0.7 percent below, is the key defense because it is both the lower boundary of the recent structure and the floor of the three month range 1.1114 to 1.1715. Holding there would preserve the argument that weakness is consolidation within a recovery attempt. Losing 1.1114 exposes 1.1000, which means the market would have rejected the recovery and shifted attention toward the lower nearer round number handle.

The bull path is straightforward: if EUR/USD holds above 1.1200 and pressure builds through 1.1279, then the market can pursue 1.1715 because resistance would have been removed while the full three month range reopens overhead. Progress should look like sustained acceptance rather than a brief probe, which means repeated failure to remain above 1.1279 would keep the pair trapped and reduce confidence in the upside path.

The bear path begins if 1.1200 continues to cap advances and the pair rotates back toward 1.1114 because that would confirm that the current recovery lacks follow-through. If 1.1114 then fails decisively, 1.1000 becomes exposed, which means the three month floor has broken and defensive demand has lost the level that currently protects the constructive interpretation.

The principal risk to this read is a sharp repricing of relative euro and dollar expectations, but the market itself provides the invalidation points. A sustained break below 1.1114 invalidates the cautious bullish tilt because it opens 1.1000, while a decisive move above 1.1279 invalidates the range-bound caution because it opens 1.1715. Net, EUR/USD at 1.1197 is stable but unproven, with the balance modestly constructive above support and meaningfully stronger only after resistance breaks.
