DAX 40 (DAX) – Daily Read
3 November 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk
25,981.1
DAX 40 is attempting to turn recovery into a breakout, with the last price at 25,981 after finishing 0.6 percent higher. It is pressing the top of its one-month range, which means the market is testing whether improving demand can absorb supply from traders who previously reduced exposure near the highs. The view is constructive but not yet fully confirmed because the index is close enough to resistance that follow-through now matters more than the strength already shown.
The move has credibility because the one month average at 25,440 is now below price, while the structure reads as a recovery attempt, back above the one-month average but still under the longer one. The advance is roughly 2.6 percent up over the last two weeks, which means participation has been persistent rather than confined to a single strong session. The macro backdrop matters mainly through confidence in cyclical and internationally exposed European companies, because the DAX tends to respond when expectations for growth, policy and global demand shift together. For this index specifically, holding above its recent average is encouraging, but the longer reference overhead explains why the recovery still needs confirmation.
The first test is the round number handle at 26,000 because it sits almost directly above the last price and can separate hesitation from sustained upside pressure. Beyond it, the month swing high at 26,106 is about 0.5 percent above the current price, which means even a modest extension can force a more consequential decision. A decisive move above 26,106 opens the path toward 26,619, the upper boundary of the three month range 24,697 to 26,619. That upper boundary matters because it represents the broadest visible supply zone in the supplied price history, and clearing it would shift the structure from recovery toward range expansion.
On the downside, 25,500 is the nearer round number handle that should help defend the recovery because it sits above the one month average and offers an early test of whether demand remains willing to support weakness. Below that, 24,793 is the major shelf of support, about 4.6 percent below, which means the index has room to retrace without immediately destroying the broader range. Its importance comes from proximity to the three month floor at 24,697. Losing 24,793 exposes 24,293 because that failure would show that support around the range base had not merely been tested but decisively abandoned.
The bull path is straightforward: if 26,000 holds as support and the index closes decisively above 26,106, then pressure should migrate toward 26,619 because prior range resistance would have yielded. The bear path begins if repeated failures around 26,106 push price below 25,500; if that weakness then extends through 25,440, the recovery loses quality and attention shifts toward 24,793 because the reclaimed average would no longer be supporting the move.
The principal risk is false acceptance above 26,106 followed by a rapid reversal, because that would reveal exhausted demand rather than a genuine breakout. A sustained loss of 24,793 would invalidate the constructive read and expose 24,293, while resilience above 25,500 would preserve it. Net, DAX 40 has an upside bias near 25,981, but conviction belongs only above 26,106 because 26,619 is available only after the market proves it can escape the current range.
Key levels: support 24,793 (4.6% below), resistance 26,106 (0.5% above), one-month average 25,440, three-month range 24,697 to 26,619.
