DAX 40 (DAX) – Daily Read

27 October 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
25,410.8

The DAX 40 recovery is gaining credibility, with the last price at 25,411 after finishing the last session 0.9 percent higher. The index is holding in the upper half of its one-month range, which means demand is rebuilding rather than merely producing a short-lived bounce from the lows. The clear view is constructive but conditional: the market has repaired near-term damage, yet it has not broken the resistance that would confirm a broader advance.

The immediate catalyst is the return above the one-month average of 25,299, because that level now separates an active recovery attempt from another loss of momentum. Price is above it, and the structure reads as a recovery attempt, back above the one-month average but still under the longer one. Momentum is roughly 0.5 percent up over the last two weeks, which means participation is improving gradually rather than accelerating. For an export-heavy index, the macro backdrop matters through changes in global risk appetite and expectations for European growth, but the present move is specifically being driven by the reclaim of near-term ground and pressure toward the month’s upper boundary.

The nearer round number handles at 25,500 and 25,000 define the immediate contest. Holding 25,000 would preserve a constructive sequence because it keeps price above the one-month average and shows that demand is defending the recovery. Clearing 25,500 would shift attention to the month swing high at 25,729, about 1.3 percent above the current price. That high matters because it is the visible ceiling on the recent advance. Below, a shelf of support at 24,793, about 2.4 percent below, is the more important defensive line, while the full three month range of 24,697 to 26,619 shows that the index remains inside a broader consolidation.

The bull path is straightforward: if 25,000 holds, 25,500 is absorbed, and a decisive move above 25,729 follows, then the path opens toward 26,619 because the month’s resistance would have given way and the upper edge of the three month range would become the next reference point. The bear path begins if progress stalls beneath 25,729 and price falls back through 25,000. If losing 24,793 follows, that exposes 24,500, which means the recovery attempt has failed and the market is extending below the existing three month range floor at 24,697.

The main risk to the constructive read is repeated rejection between 25,500 and 25,729, because that would show supply strengthening exactly where confirmation is required. A sustained return below 25,299 would weaken the near-term structure, while a loss of 24,793 would invalidate the recovery case and place 24,500 in view. Net, the DAX 40 has a positive near-term bias above 25,000, but conviction requires 25,729 to break decisively before the broader range can resolve higher.
