STOXX 600 (SXXP) – Daily Read

3 November 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
649.4

The STOXX 600, ticker SXXP, is making a credible but unfinished recovery attempt, with the last price at 649.4 after finishing the last session 0.4 percent higher. It is pressing the top of its one-month range, which means the market is testing whether recent strength can become a broader advance rather than another failed rebound. The near-term bias is constructive because price has recovered important ground, but conviction requires acceptance beyond the range ceiling. This matters beyond a narrow group of shares because SXXP is the broad index of 600 European companies, not the Euro Stoxx 50, so its direction provides a wider reading of European equity participation.

The macro backdrop matters only insofar as shifting expectations around growth, policy and corporate resilience can move a geographically and sectorally diverse European benchmark, which means broad participation is more important here than strength in a few continental heavyweights. The one month average is 639.4; price is above it, and the structure reads as a recovery attempt, back above the one-month average but still under the longer one. Momentum roughly 1.5 percent up over the last two weeks. That combination supports the recovery thesis because recent demand has improved, while the failure to clear the longer reference keeps the move from qualifying as a fully established advance.

The immediate contest is around the nearer round number handles at 650.0 and 640.0. The first is resistance because it sits directly beside the month swing high 650.9, about 0.2 percent above the current price, making this a concentrated test of overhead supply and confidence. The second is support because it closely aligns with the recovered one-month area, which means sustained trade below it would weaken the near-term structure. Beneath that, a shelf of support at 622.9, about 4.1 percent below, marks the lower boundary of the three month range 622.9 to 663.4. That shelf matters because it has separated consolidation from a deeper deterioration.

The bull path is straightforward: if SXXP holds around 640.0, absorbs pressure at 650.0 and delivers a decisive move above 650.9, then the path opens toward 663.4 because the current range ceiling would have given way and participation could broaden. The bear path begins if repeated rejection near 650.9 pushes price back through 640.0, which means the recovery attempt is losing traction. If that weakness extends and losing 622.9 exposes 612.9, then the three-month floor has failed and the market must reprice a materially weaker structure.

The principal risk to the constructive view is a false break near the upper boundary, because a brief move through 650.9 without sustained acceptance would leave SXXP vulnerable to a reversal through 650.0 and 640.0. The read is invalidated decisively below 622.9, which means the recovery thesis no longer describes the price action and 612.9 becomes exposed. Net, the broad European index has earned a positive near-term bias at 649.4, but confirmation belongs above 650.9, while discipline belongs below 640.0 and especially below 622.9.
