NAS100 at 28,385, down 3.5 percent lower in the last session, is testing whether a sharp pullback can remain corrective or is becoming a broader trend reversal. The index is down near the floor of its one-month range, which means the next response matters more than the headline decline itself. The clear view is cautious while price remains below the one month average 29,933, because the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. That leaves the market damaged in the short run, but not yet broken on the larger horizon.
The immediate catalyst is pressure on duration-sensitive growth shares, where crowded positioning can amplify index moves when confidence weakens. The shared macro backdrop matters only because uncertainty around policy, inflation and earnings durability can compress the premium attached to long-duration technology cash flows. Momentum roughly 2.8 percent down over the last two weeks confirms that weakness preceded the latest session, which means this is more than a single-day shock. Even so, the longer trend remains relevant because NAS100 has not yet surrendered the lower boundary that would turn controlled retreat into structural deterioration.
The first contest is around the nearer round number handles at 28,500 and 28,000. The 28,500 area matters because reclaiming it would show that the latest flush is being absorbed, while sustained trade beneath 28,000 would signal that psychological support is no longer containing pressure. More important is a shelf of support at 28,093, about 1.0 percent below, because that area sits just above the lower round handle and separates stabilization from renewed range expansion lower. The broader three month range 27,176 to 31,361 defines the real battlefield. Its upper boundary also marks the month swing high 31,361, about 10.5 percent above the current price, which means any recovery must cover substantial ground before the larger advance resumes cleanly.
The bull path is straightforward: if 28,093 holds, 28,000 is defended, and price regains 28,500, then the pullback can begin repairing toward the one month average 29,933. Acceptance above that average would matter because it would restore evidence that the longer uptrend is again controlling price. If momentum then carries NAS100 through the month swing high, a decisive move above 31,361 opens the path toward 31,861, which means the prior range ceiling has shifted from resistance into a base for continuation.
The bear path begins if rebounds fail beneath 28,500 and pressure returns to 28,093. If that shelf gives way with persistence, then losing 28,093 exposes 27,176, because the market would have removed the last defined support before the three-month floor. A break of 27,176 would be more serious than ordinary volatility, which means the pullback label would no longer fit and the longer trend would face direct challenge.
The main risk to the cautious view is a rapid recovery above 29,933, because that would show the breakdown lacked staying power. Conversely, the constructive longer-term read is invalidated below 27,176. Net, NAS100 remains vulnerable beneath 29,933, but 28,093 is the decisive line: hold it and repair is credible; lose it and the decline likely extends.
Key levels: support 28,093 (1.0% below), resistance 31,361 (10.5% above), one-month average 29,933, three-month range 27,176 to 31,361.
