Microsoft (MSFT) – Daily Read

26 October 2026 | Stock | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$524.51

Microsoft at $524.51, 0.7 percent higher in the last session, is stabilising rather than breaking out because the longer trend still points up while the shorter structure remains a pullback. The stock is sitting mid-range over the past month, which means neither side has control at the current price. The clear view is cautiously constructive: strength has survived, but confirmation requires the market to reclaim nearby resistance and then clear the month’s ceiling.

For a mega-cap software stock, shifts in equity risk appetite and rate expectations matter because they influence how aggressively the market values durable future earnings. The instrument-specific issue is the one month average at $526.70: price is below it, and the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. The stock is also roughly 2.0 percent down over the last two weeks, which means the latest rebound has not yet repaired the recent loss of momentum.

The first contest is between the nearer round number handles at $530.00 and $520.00. Holding $520.00 would show that demand is appearing before deeper support is tested, because participants are still willing to defend the lower edge of the immediate trading area. Reclaiming and holding above $530.00 would improve the tone by putting price back above the one month average at $526.70, which means the pullback would be losing force. Repeated failure around $530.00 would instead keep the stock vulnerable to another test of $520.00.

Above that zone, the month swing high at $551.15 sits about 5.1 percent above the current price and defines the decisive resistance. It matters because the same level is also the top of the three month range from $373.35 to $551.15, concentrating prior supply at a visible boundary. A decisive move above $551.15 opens the path toward $561.15, which means the market would be accepting a fresh range rather than merely revisiting the old high.

The bull path is straightforward: if $520.00 holds, price recovers $526.70, establishes acceptance above $530.00, and then clears $551.15 decisively, the move toward $561.15 becomes credible because each step removes a separate layer of resistance. The bear path begins if rebounds stall below $526.70 and $530.00 before $520.00 gives way, which means the pullback is broadening rather than resolving. That would turn attention to the shelf of support at $491.22, about 6.3 percent below.

The central risk is a loss of $491.22, because that shelf is the main defence separating an orderly retracement from a materially weaker structure. Losing $491.22 exposes $373.35, which means the full lower boundary of the three month range becomes relevant and the constructive read is invalidated. Conversely, sustained trade above $551.15 would invalidate the cautious part of the view. Net, Microsoft remains longer-term constructive but tactically unproven at $524.51, with $520.00 defending stability and $551.15 controlling the next expansion.

Microsoft (MSFT) daily chart, 26 October 2026
