EUR/USD – Daily Read

1.1231
EUR/USD is attempting to extend a measured recovery, with the last price at 1.1231 after finishing the last session 0.3 percent higher. It is holding in the upper half of its one-month range, which means demand has regained some control without yet producing a decisive breakout. The clear view is cautiously bullish while price remains above nearby support, because the pair has improved its position but still needs confirmation before the recovery becomes a broader advance.
The macro backdrop matters chiefly through shifts in the relative outlook for the euro and dollar, because currency direction depends on which side attracts the stronger flow. For EUR/USD specifically, the one month average at 1.1198 is the immediate reference: price is above it, and the structure reads as a recovery attempt, back above the one-month average but still under the longer one. Momentum roughly 0.04 percent down over the last two weeks shows why conviction should remain controlled, because the recent price improvement has not yet translated into sustained upward pressure.
The first support is the round number handle at 1.1200, because holding above it preserves both the psychological floor and the recovery posture around 1.1198. Below there, a shelf of support at 1.1114, about 1.0 percent below, is the more important defensive line because it also marks the bottom of the three month range 1.1114 to 1.1715. A sustained loss of that shelf would indicate that the recovery has failed, while a quick rejection from it would show that broader range demand remains active.
Resistance begins at the month swing high of 1.1279, about 0.4 percent above the current price, because that is where the recent advance previously met supply. A decisive move above 1.1279 opens the path toward 1.1715, which means the market would be shifting from recovery attempt to range expansion. The nearer round number handle at 1.1400 would then become an important checkpoint because acceptance above it would reinforce the breakout, while repeated failure there would warn that the move lacks follow-through.
The bull path is straightforward: if EUR/USD holds 1.1200, remains above 1.1198, and clears 1.1279 decisively, then 1.1400 becomes the next test before scope opens toward 1.1715, because each step would confirm stronger demand at progressively higher prices. The bear path begins if 1.1200 gives way and rebounds cannot reclaim 1.1198; if that weakness then removes 1.1114, losing 1.1114 exposes 1.1000, which means the three-month floor has failed and downside risk has materially widened.
The main risk to the bullish read is false strength above 1.1279 followed by a retreat through 1.1200, because that sequence would trap the breakout and return EUR/USD to defensive trade. The read is fully invalidated by sustained acceptance below 1.1114, while strength through 1.1400 would increase confidence in continuation toward 1.1715. Net, 1.1231 supports a cautiously constructive stance, but confirmation rests on clearing 1.1279 before support at 1.1200 and 1.1198 is surrendered.
Key levels: support 1.1114 (1.0% below), resistance 1.1279 (0.4% above), one-month average 1.1198, three-month range 1.1114 to 1.1715.
