US Dollar Index (DXY) – Daily Read

4 November 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$101.50

On 4 November 2026, the US Dollar Index is in a controlled pullback rather than a confirmed trend reversal. Last price is 101.50 after the last session finished 0.4 percent lower, leaving DXY down near the floor of its one-month range. That matters because weakness is testing the lower boundary of recent trade while the longer trend still points up. The near-term view is cautious below resistance, but not outright bearish unless nearby support gives way with conviction.

For Forex, the relevant macro channel is changing expectations for relative policy and growth, but the immediate DXY pressure comes from failure to hold its recent average and the latest session decline. The one month average is 101.99; price is below it, and the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. Momentum is roughly 0.2 percent down over the last two weeks, which means the retreat has been persistent but measured rather than disorderly. The dollar now needs renewed demand to prove this is consolidation inside the broader advance.

The first important defense is the shelf of support at 101.25, about 0.2 percent below. It matters because it is close enough to the current market to determine whether the pullback remains contained or begins to broaden. The nearer round number handle at 102.00 is the first resistance and sentiment test, because reclaiming it would place price back above the one month average at 101.99 and reduce immediate downside pressure. Above there, the month swing high is 102.94, about 1.4 percent above the current price. That level caps the recent advance and is also the upper boundary of the three month range of 98.56 to 102.94, which means a clean break would carry greater significance than routine movement inside the range. The other major round number handle is 100.00, which would become psychologically important if 101.25 fails.

The bull path is straightforward: if 101.25 continues to hold and DXY recovers 102.00, then the pullback is likely being absorbed and attention returns to 102.94. If a decisive move above 102.94 follows, it opens the path toward 104.00 because the market would have cleared both the month swing high and the three month ceiling. The bear path begins if repeated attempts to regain 102.00 fail and pressure returns to 101.25. If losing 101.25 exposes 98.56, then 100.00 becomes the major intervening handle because a failure there would reinforce the shift from a contained pullback toward a deeper correction across the range.

The principal risk to the cautious view is a rapid recovery through 102.00, while the principal risk to the longer-term upward structure is sustained trade below 101.25. The read would be invalidated on the bullish side by rejection beneath 102.94 followed by fresh weakness, and on the bearish side by a decisive move above 102.94, because either outcome would resolve the present tension. Net, DXY remains vulnerable at 101.50, but support at 101.25 keeps the broader upward case alive until price proves otherwise.
