Crude Oil (WTI) – Daily Read
7 November 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk
$90.56
WTI is attempting to stabilize at $90.56 after finishing the last session 0.1 percent higher, but the balance of evidence still favors caution because it is trading in the lower half of its one-month range. Momentum is roughly 12.3 percent down over the last two weeks, which means the latest uptick looks more like a pause in a forceful retreat than a confirmed turn. The clear view is that crude remains in a longer upswing, yet near-term control stays with the defensive side until price recovers the ground lost during this pullback.
The one-month average at $97.26 is the key measure of that lost ground because price is below it, and the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. For crude, changing demand expectations and supply-risk perceptions transmit quickly into price because the commodity carries both cyclical exposure and a risk premium. That combination explains why weakness can accelerate even inside an advancing longer trend, which means a recovery through the average would signal that the market is again willing to absorb available supply at progressively firmer prices.
The nearer round number handles at $92.00 and $90.00 define the immediate contest because they separate stabilization from another leg lower. Holding $90.00 would show that participants still defend the current area, while reclaiming $92.00 would reduce near-term pressure and allow attention to shift back toward $97.26. Below them, a shelf of support at $86.86, about 4.1 percent below, matters because it is the last clearly defined defense before the pullback risks becoming a much broader unwind. A decisive loss of $86.86 would therefore change the character of the move, not merely extend it.
The month swing high at $103.92, about 14.8 percent above the current price, is the major resistance because it marks where the previous advance exhausted itself. If WTI first regains $92.00, then clears $97.26 and holds above it, the bull path becomes a retest of $103.92; if a decisive move above $103.92 follows, it opens the path toward $105.63. That upper level also caps the three-month range of $70.77 to $105.63, which means strength there would represent a genuine range expansion rather than a routine rebound.
The bear path is equally direct because failure at $92.00 followed by sustained trade below $90.00 would keep the recent downside momentum intact and return pressure to $86.86. If losing $86.86 follows, it exposes $70.77, with the full three-month range then relevant as evidence that the prior advance is unwinding. The principal risk to the cautious read is a rapid recovery above $97.26, while a decisive move above $103.92 would invalidate it outright because control would have shifted back toward continuation. Net, WTI retains a constructive longer trend, but the pullback remains dominant until the market proves otherwise through reclaimed resistance.
Key levels: support $86.86 (4.1% below), resistance $103.92 (14.8% above), one-month average $97.26, three-month range $70.77 to $105.63.
