Copper – Daily Read

7 November 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$6.26

Copper is attempting to stabilize at $6.26 after finishing the last session 1.2 percent higher, but the balance of evidence still favors caution because the metal remains near the floor of its one-month range. The rebound matters, yet it has not repaired the broader structure. Copper is below its one month average of $6.52 and under both its one-month and longer averages, which means the prevailing move still reads as a downtrend rather than a durable turn. The clear view is that strength must prove itself through resistance, while nearby support has little room for error.

The asset-class signal is one of weak underlying demand conviction rather than outright capitulation because momentum is roughly 3.3 percent down over the last two weeks despite the latest positive session. Copper often reflects expectations for industrial activity, construction demand, and broader risk appetite, which means its inability to reclaim the recent average keeps the macro message defensive. The month swing high at $6.79 stands about 8.4 percent above the current price, so the market has meaningful recovery work ahead before the recent decline can be judged complete.

The immediate battle is concentrated around the nearer round number handles at $6.40 and $6.20 because they bracket the current price and will shape short-term conviction. A recovery through $6.40 would show that offers above the market are being absorbed, but the more important resistance remains $6.52, where the one month average can reinforce overhead pressure. On the downside, $6.20 sits just above a shelf of support at $6.19, about 1.1 percent below, which means this narrow area is the first serious defense against renewed weakness. The wider three month range of $6.10 to $6.93 defines the larger map: the lower boundary represents the next established floor, while the upper boundary marks the point where the broader range would be fully retraced.

The bull path is straightforward because confirmation requires more than holding the current zone. If $6.20 and $6.19 continue to absorb pressure, then a move through $6.40 can challenge $6.52 and improve the tone. If that recovery extends into a decisive move above $6.79, then the path opens toward $6.93, which means the market would have cleared the month swing high and shifted control toward the upside. The bear path begins if rebounds repeatedly fail beneath $6.40 and $6.52. If $6.19 is lost decisively, then $6.10 becomes exposed, with the lower end of the three month range likely to face a direct test.

The principal risk to the cautious view is a sustained recovery above $6.52 because that would weaken the downtrend interpretation and suggest the latest advance has deeper sponsorship. Full invalidation requires a decisive move above $6.79, while failure to hold $6.19 would instead validate continued pressure toward $6.10. Net, copper is stabilizing but not yet repaired, which means support can produce a rebound, but resistance still controls the read until the market proves otherwise.
