DAX 40 (DAX) – Daily Read

7 November 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
25,820.4

DAX 40 is absorbing a sharp setback without yet surrendering its broader advance. The last price is 25,820 after finishing 1.9 percent lower in the last session, but the index remains above the one month average at 25,633 and the structure still reads as a clean uptrend, with price above both its one-month and longer averages. That matters because the decline currently looks like pressure within an established rising structure, not a confirmed reversal. Even so, sitting mid-range over the past month leaves the market vulnerable to a two-sided contest before direction becomes clearer.

The broader risk backdrop matters chiefly through the DAX 40’s sensitivity to global growth expectations and cyclical confidence, because weaker risk appetite can produce outsized pressure in this asset class. Instrument-specific evidence remains constructive beneath the latest decline: momentum is roughly 2.5 percent up over the last two weeks, which means recent progress has not been erased by one difficult session. The three month range of 24,793 to 26,693 also shows that the index is consolidating inside defined boundaries rather than breaking into fresh territory. The immediate question is whether the retreat attracts enough demand to rebuild toward the upper boundary or instead develops into sustained distribution.

The first nearby test is 25,500, which matters because it sits below both the last price of 25,820 and the one month average of 25,633. Holding that handle would preserve a relatively shallow pullback and keep 26,000 within reach as the first resistance to reclaim. A firm recovery through 26,000 would show that the latest weakness is being absorbed, but the more important ceiling remains the month swing high at 26,693, about 3.4 percent above the current price. Below, the shelf of support at 24,793, about 4.0 percent below, is decisive because it is also the lower edge of the three month range and therefore defends the broader rising structure.

The bull path is straightforward: if 25,500 holds and price regains 26,000, then confidence should improve and attention should rotate back toward 26,693. If a decisive move above 26,693 follows, then the established ceiling becomes evidence of renewed trend expansion and opens the path toward 27,193, because supply that repeatedly capped the market would have been overcome. The bear path begins if 25,500 fails and rebounds cannot recover the one month average at 25,633. That sequence would increase pressure toward 24,793, and losing 24,793 exposes 24,293, which means the three month floor has failed and the current uptrend can no longer be treated as clean.

The main risk to the constructive read is that the 1.9 percent lower session proves to be the start of persistent risk reduction rather than a contained reset. Failure beneath 25,500 would weaken the near-term case, while acceptance below 24,793 would invalidate the view because it would break both the support shelf and the three month range. Conversely, renewed strength above 26,000 would reduce that risk, although only a decisive move through 26,693 would confirm another leg higher. Net, the DAX 40 remains constructive above 24,793, but conviction should stay measured until 26,000 is reclaimed and the upper boundary is genuinely challenged.
