US Dollar Index (DXY) – Daily Read

7 November 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$102.30

The US Dollar Index is pressing its advantage, with the last price at 102.30 after finishing 0.7 percent higher. The move matters because it is holding in the upper half of its one-month range, showing that demand is persisting near recent extremes rather than fading after the advance. The clear view is constructive while the index remains above nearby support: strength is being accepted, but the market is close enough to resistance that the next move must confirm whether this is continuation or exhaustion.

The structure reads as a clean uptrend, price above both its one-month and longer averages, with the one month average at 101.96 and price above it. Momentum roughly 0.5 percent up over the last two weeks. That pace is measured rather than disorderly, which means the move has room to extend if fresh dollar demand appears. The macro link is relative growth and policy expectations, because any renewed preference for US liquidity or upward repricing of US rates would reinforce the dollar, while a reversal in those expectations would challenge it.

The month swing high at 102.94, about 0.6 percent above the current price, is the immediate resistance because it marks the point where the latest advance previously stopped. A decisive move through it would show that supply at the range ceiling has been absorbed. The nearer round number handles at 104.00 and 102.00 also matter: 102.00 should help defend the current structure because it sits just beneath the market and offers an early test of whether strength is being retained, while 104.00 is the next obvious resistance if the ceiling gives way. A shelf of support at 101.10, about 1.2 percent below, is more important than 102.00 because losing it would damage the sequence of higher ground. The three month range of 98.56 to 102.94 shows the index testing the very top of its broader boundary, which means confirmation above that boundary carries more weight than another brief probe.

The bull path is straightforward: if 102.00 holds and the index then makes a decisive move above 102.94, that opens the path toward 104.00 because the three-month ceiling would have become a base for continuation. The bear path begins if repeated failure at 102.94 pushes price back through 102.00; if that weakness then extends through 101.10, it exposes 98.56 because the key support shelf would have failed and the broader range would be back in control. A retreat toward 101.96 without follow-through below 101.10 would be consolidation, not a full reversal.

The main risk is a false break above 102.94 followed by rapid rejection beneath 102.00, because that would signal that the apparent breakout lacked durable demand. The constructive read is invalidated by losing 101.10, while sustained acceptance below 101.96 would provide an earlier warning that momentum is deteriorating. Net, the dollar retains the upper hand at 102.30, but conviction should rise only above 102.94 and turn materially defensive below 101.10.
