Crude Oil (WTI) – Daily Read

6 November 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$91.22

WTI is attempting to stabilize, but the burden of proof remains with the bulls because the last price of $91.22, despite finishing 0.8 percent higher, sits in the lower half of its one-month range. The clear view is that this is a countertrend pause inside a damaged short-term structure, not yet a durable turn. That matters because crude is close enough to nearby support for a recovery to develop, yet still far enough below the recent peak that renewed weakness could quickly reopen a much deeper adjustment.

The macro backdrop matters only insofar as changing expectations for global activity, policy, and the dollar can amplify shifts in oil demand, while crude’s own supply-demand balance remains the more direct catalyst. The one month average is $97.29, and price is below it, which means the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. The roughly 11.7 percent decline over the last two weeks shows that recent pressure has been forceful because participants have continued to reduce exposure rather than merely pause the advance. The month swing high at $103.92 stands about 13.9 percent above the current price, which means a meaningful amount of repair is required before the prior advance regains control.

The immediate contest sits around the nearer round number handles at $92.00 and $90.00 because they divide stabilization from another leg lower. Holding $90.00 would show that demand is absorbing pressure near the current area, while sustained trade above $92.00 would begin to establish firmer footing. The more important shelf of support is $86.86, about 4.8 percent below, because it is the level defending the longer upward structure against a larger unwind. The three month range of $70.77 to $105.63 gives that shelf added meaning, which means failure there would shift attention from a routine pullback toward a broad range retracement.

The bull path is straightforward: if WTI holds $90.00, reclaims $92.00, and then sustains progress through $97.29, then the pullback begins to look exhausted because price would be recovering the key territory lost during the recent decline. A decisive move above $103.92 opens the path toward $105.63, which means the prior swing high is the confirmation point for renewed trend continuation. The bear path is equally clear: if rebounds fail below $92.00 and pressure carries through $90.00, then $86.86 becomes the critical defense because losing $86.86 exposes $70.77 and signals that the correction has expanded into a deeper reset.

The principal risk to the bearish near-term view is a fast recovery above $97.29 because that would invalidate the idea that recent weakness still controls price discovery. Conversely, the longer-term bullish read fails if $86.86 gives way with conviction, which means the market would no longer be defending the structure that separates an orderly retreat from a much broader decline. Net, WTI retains an upward longer trend but remains tactically fragile below its one-month average, with stabilization possible near the round-number zone and confirmation still requiring a sustained recovery through overhead resistance.
