657.4
On 5 November 2026, the STOXX 600 is pressing the top of its one-month range at 657.4 after finishing the last session 1.8 percent higher. The move matters because this is the broad index of 600 European companies, ticker SXXP, rather than the narrower Euro Stoxx 50, so strength here reflects improving participation across countries and sectors. The clear view is constructive but conditional: the recovery has enough breadth and momentum to challenge the range ceiling, yet confirmation still requires the market to absorb nearby resistance.
The macro backdrop matters because a broad European index is especially sensitive to shifts in growth confidence, financing conditions and global risk appetite. For this instrument, the immediate catalyst is price acceptance above the one month average of 641.1, which means the market has repaired some recent damage and established a recovery attempt. It remains under the longer one, so the move is not yet a fully restored advance. Momentum is roughly 2.0 percent up over the last two weeks, which means demand has been persistent rather than confined to the latest session.
The first test is the month swing high at 659.1, about 0.3 percent above the current price, because it marks where the recent advance previously ran out of room. The nearer round number handle at 660.0 reinforces that resistance, while 650.0 should act as the first support because holding it would show that participants are accepting prices near the upper end of the range. The three month range runs from 622.9 to 663.4, which means 663.4 is the more important ceiling once 659.1 is cleared. At the lower boundary, a shelf of support at 622.9, about 5.3 percent below, is structurally important because it has defined the base of that wider range.
The bull path is straightforward: if SXXP makes a decisive move above 659.1, then the path opens toward 663.4 because the prior month ceiling has given way and the market can test the top of the three month range. Holding above 650.0 during that process would strengthen the case by showing that shallow setbacks are being contained. The bear path begins if 659.1 and 660.0 repeatedly reject the advance, which means the recovery is meeting supply exactly where expected. If 650.0 then fails, attention shifts back toward 641.1; if 622.9 is lost decisively, that exposes 612.9 because the established range floor would no longer be defending the structure.
The principal risk to the constructive view is a failed breakout followed by sustained weakness beneath 641.1, because that would turn the move back above the one month average into a temporary recovery rather than durable repair. A loss of 622.9 would invalidate the bullish interpretation outright and place 612.9 in view. Net, SXXP retains an upward bias while 650.0 holds, but only a decisive clearance of 659.1 and then 663.4 would establish that Europe’s broad equity market has moved beyond recovery and into a stronger advance.
Key levels: support 622.9 (5.3% below), resistance 659.1 (0.3% above), one-month average 641.1, three-month range 622.9 to 663.4.
