Silver (XAG/USD) – Daily Read

16 September 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$64.22

Silver is attempting to stabilize, but the rebound has not yet repaired the damage from the recent pullback. XAG/USD last trades at $64.22, 1.1 percent higher on the day, while remaining down near the floor of its one-month range. The clear view is cautiously constructive rather than outright bullish. The longer trend still points up, but buyers must reclaim lost ground before the current bounce can be treated as a durable turn. That distinction matters because silver is now close enough to support for the next directional move to carry meaningful consequences.

The macro backdrop is supportive of two-way volatility. Silver sits between precious-metal demand and the economic sensitivity associated with industrial commodities, so shifts in real-rate expectations, the dollar, risk appetite, and confidence in manufacturing demand can pull it in different directions. Instrument-specific price action is currently the stronger signal. The one month average is $67.05; price is below it, and the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. The roughly 5.0 percent decline over the last two weeks shows that sellers retain near-term control, even though today’s advance suggests demand is beginning to respond at lower prices.

The immediate battle is around the nearer round number handles at $66.00 and $64.00. Holding $64.00 would show that buyers can defend the current base and absorb supply, while a recovery through $66.00 would begin to rebuild confidence and put the one month average at $67.05 back into play. That average matters because reclaiming it would indicate the pullback is losing force rather than simply pausing. Above there, the month swing high at $71.78 sits about 11.8 percent above the current price and marks the point where the market would have fully challenged the recent decline.

On the downside, a shelf of support at $62.45, about 2.8 percent below, is the key defensive line. It is close enough to attract dip buyers, but repeated tests would weaken its credibility. The broader three month range of $56.13 to $79.25 frames the larger opportunity and risk. A decisive move above $71.78 opens the path toward $79.25, because clearing the month high would remove the most obvious overhead barrier. Losing $62.45 exposes $56.13, as the failure of the shelf would confirm that the pullback has broadened into a deeper retracement.

The bull path is straightforward: if $64.00 holds, then a move through $66.00 can challenge $67.05; if buyers reclaim and hold above that area, then $71.78 becomes achievable, and a decisive break opens $79.25. The bear path is equally clear: if rallies fail below $66.00 and pressure returns through $64.00, then $62.45 becomes vulnerable; if that shelf gives way, then $56.13 is the logical downside exposure.

The main risk to the constructive view is continued rejection beneath $67.05 followed by a loss of $62.45. Conversely, sustained acceptance above $71.78 would invalidate the cautious stance and restore a clearly bullish structure. Net, silver is testing support within an intact longer-term rise, but buyers still need to prove that today’s bounce is more than temporary relief.
