Nasdaq 100 (NAS100) – Daily Read

11 September 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
29,103.5

Nasdaq 100 (NAS100) is caught in a controlled pullback within a longer rising trend, but the location now demands respect. Last price 29,104, 0.0 percent higher on the day, leaves the index down near the floor of its one-month range. The clear view is cautiously constructive while nearby support holds, because the broader structure has not yet broken. Even so, weak short-term participation means buyers must reclaim lost ground before this can be treated as a renewed advance rather than a pause that is becoming more vulnerable.

The macro backdrop is one in which expectations around growth, policy, liquidity, and corporate earnings remain especially important for a technology-heavy index. Nasdaq leadership depends on investors retaining confidence in future cash flows and accepting elevated exposure to long-duration growth assets. That makes changing rate expectations and earnings revisions more consequential here than for less growth-sensitive parts of the equity market. The instrument-specific pressure is visible in the recent loss of altitude: the index is roughly 1.1 percent down over the last two weeks. The one month average is 29,342; price is below it, and the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up.

The immediate contest is around the nearer round number handles at 29,500 and 29,000. The 29,500 area matters because recovering it would put price back above the one month average and signal that buyers are absorbing the pullback. The 29,000 handle is the nearer psychological defense, but the more important shelf of support is at 28,876, about 0.8 percent below. That shelf separates an orderly retracement from a materially weaker structure. The month swing high is 30,196, about 3.8 percent above the current price, and represents the point where supply previously overwhelmed demand. Beyond it, the three month range is 27,176 to 30,643, framing both the upside objective and the deeper downside risk.

The bull path is straightforward: if 29,000 and 28,876 continue to attract demand, then a recovery through 29,342 and 29,500 would show that control is rotating back toward buyers. If that recovery develops into a decisive move above 30,196, then it opens the path toward 30,643, with the prior ceiling becoming the next test of trend strength. The bear path begins if rebounds repeatedly fail beneath 29,342 and 29,500. If selling then forces a loss of 28,876, it exposes 27,176 and turns the pullback into a broader range retracement.

The main risk to the constructive view is that apparent support is only temporary while the macro environment becomes less supportive of growth exposure. A sustained failure below 28,876 would invalidate the idea that this is merely a contained pullback. Conversely, the bearish read is invalidated by acceptance above 30,196. Net, the longer trend still favors buyers, but the burden of proof has shifted to them: defend 28,876, reclaim 29,500, and then challenge the high.
