EUR/USD – Daily Read

13 October 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
1.1177

EUR/USD at 1.1177, 0.2 percent higher in the last session, is attempting to steady near the floor of its one-month range, but the dominant message remains defensive because price sits below its one-month and longer averages. The bounce matters less than its location: the pair is stabilizing where downside pressure should begin to meet meaningful demand, yet it has not repaired the sequence of weakness that brought it here. The clear view is that this remains a downtrend unless the recovery can reclaim progressively higher ground and hold it.

The broader currency backdrop matters only insofar as shifting expectations around relative European and US growth and policy are keeping the euro under pressure, which means any EUR/USD recovery still needs instrument-specific confirmation rather than a favorable narrative alone. Momentum is roughly 1.5 percent down over the last two weeks, while the one month average at 1.1326 remains overhead. That combination says the latest rise is a pause inside a weakening structure, not yet a reversal, because the market continues to accept prices below its recent center of gravity. The month swing high at 1.1621, about 4.0 percent above the current price, shows how much repair would be required before control shifts convincingly away from the downside.

The immediate shelf of support is 1.1156, about 0.2 percent below, and it matters because it is also the lower boundary of the three month range at 1.1156 to 1.1715. Defending that shelf would show that participants still regard the established range floor as fair ground for stabilization. Losing it would instead mark acceptance beneath a boundary that has contained the market for months, which means downside pressure could accelerate toward the nearer round number handle at 1.1000. On the upside, 1.1200 is the first round number handle that must be recovered and held. It is not sufficient by itself to reverse the trend, but sustained trade above it would create breathing room for a challenge of 1.1326. Beyond there, 1.1621 is the decisive resistance because clearing the month swing high would invalidate the current pattern of lower acceptance and open the path toward 1.1715.

The bull path is straightforward: if 1.1156 continues to hold and EUR/USD establishes itself above 1.1200, then pressure can shift toward 1.1326 because reclaiming the recent average would indicate that the market is rebuilding rather than merely bouncing. If that recovery extends through 1.1621 decisively, then 1.1715 becomes the next logical test. The bear path is equally clean: if attempts above 1.1200 fail and 1.1156 gives way decisively, then 1.1000 is exposed because the three month floor would no longer be containing supply.

The main risk to the bearish read is sustained acceptance above 1.1326, with full invalidation delivered by a decisive break above 1.1621 because that would shift the structure from damage control toward genuine recovery. Conversely, repeated defense of 1.1156 without progress through 1.1200 would leave the pair compressed and vulnerable rather than constructive. Net, 1.1156 is the immediate line holding the range together, but EUR/USD remains defensively positioned until it can reclaim 1.1326 and ultimately overcome 1.1621.
