DAX 40 (DAX) – Daily Read

10 October 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
25,133.5

DAX 40 is attempting a meaningful rebound, with the last price at 25,134, 1.3 percent higher on the day, but the broader structure still argues for caution. The session strength matters because it shows buyers responding near an important support zone, yet one positive day does not overturn the prevailing downtrend. The index is trading in the lower half of its one-month range, leaving the burden of proof with the bulls. The clear view is that this is a recovery attempt inside a weak structure until buyers reclaim the overhead supply that has controlled recent trade.

The macro backdrop remains important for an index exposed to global growth, industrial demand, trade conditions, financing costs, and the earnings outlook for large exporters. In that setting, the immediate catalyst is less about the size of today’s advance and more about whether it attracts follow-through. The one month average is 25,328; price is below it, and the structure reads as a downtrend, price under both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum is roughly 0.9 percent down over the last two weeks, confirming that recent pressure has not yet been repaired. A durable turn therefore requires buyers to convert a reactive bounce into sustained demand.

The first nearby test is 25,000. Holding above that round number handle keeps the rebound credible and suggests buyers are willing to defend dips rather than chase strength. Below it, attention returns to the shelf of support at 24,793, about 1.4 percent below. That level matters because it is also the floor of the three month range 24,793 to 26,619, so its defence separates consolidation from renewed downside expansion. Overhead, 25,500 is the next round number handle and a practical test of supply. Beyond it sits the month swing high at 25,801, about 2.7 percent above the current price. That is the key structural barrier because clearing it would break the recent sequence of weakness and signal that demand has absorbed sellers.

The bull path is straightforward: if 25,000 holds, then a push through 25,500 can build confidence and force the market to challenge 25,801. A decisive move above 25,801 opens the path toward 26,619, with the breakout gaining credibility if former resistance then behaves as support. The bear path is equally clear: if the rebound stalls below 25,500 and 25,000 gives way, then sellers regain control of the short-term tape. If 24,793 subsequently fails, losing 24,793 exposes 24,500 and confirms that the range floor was distribution rather than durable support.

The main risk to the cautious view is a fast, sustained reclaim of 25,328 followed by acceptance above 25,500, which would show that the rebound has broader sponsorship. The bullish path is invalidated if buyers cannot defend 25,000 and the market closes decisively through 24,793. Net, today’s strength is constructive but not yet decisive: DAX 40 is stabilising, though the downtrend remains intact until 25,801 is convincingly reclaimed.
