GBP/USD – Daily Read

8 November 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
1.3350

GBP/USD is attempting to recover its footing rather than establishing a durable advance. Last price is 1.3350 after the last session finished 0.8 percent lower, and it is sitting mid-range over the past month, which means neither side has secured control. The pair remains close enough to its recent balance point to rebuild, but the latest decline shows that sterling demand is not yet strong enough to dismiss downside risk. The clear view is cautiously constructive above nearby support, with conviction reserved until resistance gives way.

The one month average is 1.3348; price is above it, and the structure reads as a recovery attempt, back above the one-month average but still under the longer one. Momentum is roughly 0.2 percent down over the last two weeks, which means the rebound has stabilized the pair without producing sustained upside pressure. The broader macro backdrop matters only insofar as changing expectations around relative UK and US policy can shift the yield advantage between sterling and the dollar, because that relationship is the most direct catalyst for extending or rejecting this recovery attempt.

The nearer round number handle at 1.3400 is the first resistance because holding above it would show that the market can absorb supply above the current balance area. The month swing high is 1.3503, about 1.1 percent above the current price, and it is the more important barrier because it marks the point where the recent range has previously rejected strength. Below, the nearer round number handle at 1.3200 should attract defensive demand, while a shelf of support at 1.3139, about 1.6 percent below, is the decisive floor because it anchors both the monthly structure and the bottom of the three month range 1.3139 to 1.3675. A failure there would turn a contained pullback into a broader deterioration.

The bull path is straightforward: if GBP/USD reclaims 1.3400 and remains accepted above it, then pressure can build against 1.3503 because repeated trade near the month swing high would suggest supply is being absorbed. A decisive move above 1.3503 opens the path toward 1.3675, which means the recovery attempt would have become a meaningful range expansion. The bear path begins if 1.3400 continues to cap rebounds and the pair retreats through 1.3200, because that would place the recovery structure under strain. Losing 1.3139 exposes 1.3000, which means the market would have broken its established three month floor and shifted control firmly toward dollar strength.

The main risk to the constructive view is that price remains above 1.3348 only briefly and then accelerates toward 1.3200, because that would reveal the move above the one-month average as unstable rather than supportive. The read is invalidated on a loss of 1.3139, while sustained acceptance above 1.3503 would invalidate the cautious stance and justify a more bullish interpretation toward 1.3675. Net, GBP/USD is balanced but fragile at 1.3350, with modest recovery potential above support and a clear need to overcome resistance before the upside case deserves conviction.
