Copper – Daily Read
6 November 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk
$6.21
Copper is attempting to stabilize, but the dominant message remains defensive. Last price $6.21 and a last session change of 0.4 percent higher show that demand has appeared at the margin, yet it is down near the floor of its one-month range. That matters because a modest rebound from a range floor is not enough to reverse pressure when the broader structure still points lower. The clear view is cautious below resistance, with near-term resilience acknowledged but not yet trusted.
The macro backdrop matters only insofar as copper is highly sensitive to shifts in global manufacturing confidence and growth expectations, which means uncertain demand can weigh on the metal even when a session finishes firmer. The one month average $6.52 sits above price, and the structure reads as a downtrend, price under both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum roughly 4.0 percent down over the last two weeks reinforces that interpretation because recent participation has favored weakness rather than sustained build-up. Copper therefore needs more than a quiet bounce to demonstrate that its asset class is beginning to price a stronger demand outlook.
The first defense is the nearer round number handle at $6.20, closely aligned with a shelf of support at $6.19, about 0.4 percent below. This area matters because it is the immediate boundary between stabilization and renewed range compression. Holding it would keep the last session’s improvement credible, while losing it would expose the lower end of the three month range $6.10 to $6.93. On the upside, the nearer round number handle at $6.40 is the first meaningful resistance because reclaiming it would create separation from the range floor. The one month average $6.52 is then the more important test of trend repair. Beyond that, the month swing high $6.79, about 9.2 percent above the current price, is the decisive ceiling because it marks the point where the recent sequence of weakness would be meaningfully challenged.
The bull path is straightforward: if $6.19 continues to hold, then a recovery through $6.20 and $6.40 can force the market to reassess the durability of the downtrend. If price then regains $6.52 and sustains that recovery, the pressure shifts toward $6.79. A decisive move above $6.79 opens the path toward $6.93 because the market would have cleared the month’s main resistance and returned to the upper boundary of the broader range. The bear path is equally clear: if rebounds fail beneath $6.40 and price turns lower, then pressure returns immediately to $6.20 and $6.19. Losing $6.19 exposes $6.10 because the support shelf would no longer be containing downside momentum.
The principal risk to the cautious read is a rapid recovery through $6.52, followed by acceptance above $6.79, because that would invalidate the assumption that rallies remain constrained by the downtrend. Conversely, repeated failure at $6.40 would strengthen the bearish case, especially if $6.19 gives way and $6.10 comes into view. Net, copper is stabilizing at support but has not repaired its structure, which means conviction should remain defensive until resistance is reclaimed.
Key levels: support $6.19 (0.4% below), resistance $6.79 (9.2% above), one-month average $6.52, three-month range $6.10 to $6.93.
