S&P 500 (SPX) – Daily Read

20 October 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
7,690.7

S&P 500 (SPX) closed the last session near 7,691, 0.4% higher and trading in the lower half of its one-month range. The one-month average sits near 7,736, and price is below it, so that line is the pivot the two-way traffic keeps returning to. Momentum has cooled over the last two weeks, roughly 1.1% down, leaving the structure as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. The levels that matter are 7,845 overhead, the past month’s swing high, about 2.0% above here, with 7,611 below as the shelf that has held, roughly 1.0% down; the 7,750 and 7,500 round numbers are the nearer handles. Zoom out and the last three months have ranged between 7,257 and 7,845, which frames the bigger picture. For now the tilt is mixed: a close above 7,845 would open room toward 8,000, while losing 7,611 would put 7,257 back in view.

S&P 500 (SPX) daily chart, 20 October 2026

Key levels: support 7,611 (1.0% below), resistance 7,845 (2.0% above), one-month average 7,736, three-month range 7,257 to 7,845.
