Nasdaq 100 (NAS100) – Daily Read

6 October 2026 | Index | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
31,076.4

Nasdaq 100 is challenging the upper boundary of its recent range, with the last price at 31,076, 0.9 percent higher on the day. The clear view is constructive, but the market is now at a decision point rather than an easy entry zone. It is pressing the top of its one-month range, so buyers must prove they can absorb supply near the highs. That matters because acceptance above the range would confirm another leg higher, while rejection would show that optimism is already well reflected in price.

The macro backdrop remains especially important for a growth-heavy index whose largest constituents are sensitive to changes in liquidity, discount-rate expectations, and confidence in future earnings. When those forces are supportive, capital tends to concentrate in durable growth and technology leadership. When they deteriorate, the same concentration can accelerate index-level weakness. Instrument-specific behavior is currently favorable: the one month average is 30,220, price is above it, and the structure reads as a clean uptrend, with price above both its one-month and longer averages. The index is also roughly 2.0 percent up over the last two weeks, showing sustained demand rather than a purely one-session move.

The immediate test is the month swing high at 31,117, about 0.1 percent above the current price. This level matters because it marks the point where the recent advance previously met enough supply to stop. A firm hold above it would indicate that sellers at the range ceiling have been absorbed. The nearby 31,000 handle is the first line buyers need to defend, since holding it preserves confidence around the breakout attempt. Above the range, 32,000 is the natural next handle and a likely magnet for positioning. Beneath the market, the shelf of support at 28,753, about 7.5 percent below, is structurally more important than minor intraday weakness because it represents the area where buyers previously established control. The broader three month range is 27,176 to 31,117, framing both the breakout opportunity and the downside risk.

The bull path is straightforward: if the index makes a decisive move above 31,117 and then treats that former ceiling as support, the path opens toward 32,000 as sidelined demand and breakout participation reinforce the move. The bear path begins with failure at the range top. If price slips back through 31,000 and cannot recover it, the breakout attempt loses credibility and a deeper retracement becomes more likely. If selling then reaches and breaks 28,753, the structure has materially weakened and 27,176 is exposed.

The main risk to the constructive read is a macro shift that challenges growth valuations just as price confronts established supply. A brief rejection near the high would not invalidate the trend, but sustained trade below 31,000 would warrant caution. Losing 28,753 would invalidate the bullish structure outright. Net, the trend favors buyers, but confirmation above 31,117 is required before treating 32,000 as the active destination.
