Pre-Asia Session Brief — Monday 20 April 2026
Eight of eight calls confirmed today. The channel floor at 26,509 held, the market rallied 312 points to close at 26,801, and every level we published played out. The question for Asia is simple: does the overnight session consolidate this recovery, or give back gains?
NAS100 — Monday 20 April 2026, Pre-Asia Session
What Happened Today
The geopolitical gap from the Iran/Strait of Hormuz headlines created a 350-point opening gap that tested the published channel floor. Asian session buyers stepped in at 26,310 and pushed price to 26,513. London took over and broke above 26,543. New York extended the rally through 26,695 to close at 26,801.
The VIX spike to 19.4 was the market’s acknowledgement of geopolitical risk, but it faded to 18.87 by the close. The fear was real, but not sustained. Institutions bought the dip at exactly the level where positioning data said they would.
Asian Session Setup
Asia inherits a strong hand. The NY close at 26,801 is just 40 points below Friday’s high of 26,841. The overnight bias is bullish as long as price holds above 26,634 (today’s post-gap session low).
Overnight Levels
| Resistance 2 | 26,978 | Weekly high — breakout territory |
| Resistance 1 | 26,841 | Friday high — first test for the recovery |
| Current | 26,801 | NY close |
| Support 1 | 26,634 | Post-gap session low — must hold for bullish bias |
| Support 2 | 26,509 | Channel floor — confirmed today. The line in the sand |
Overnight Scenarios
Bullish: Consolidation Above 26,750 (60%)
Asia holds above 26,750, drifts toward 26,841. London opens with a shot at reclaiming Friday’s high. This is the base case given today’s recovery strength.
Neutral: Range 26,634–26,801 (30%)
Asia gives back some of the NY rally but holds above the session low. Normal profit-taking. London would need to re-establish direction.
Bearish: Break Below 26,634 (10%)
Fresh geopolitical headlines or risk-off flow pushes price below the session low. Channel floor at 26,509 comes back into play. Unlikely given today’s institutional buying, but must be planned for.
