EUR/USD – Daily Read

1.1202
EUR/USD at 1.1202 is attempting to recover rather than establishing a clean advance, because the pair is back above its one-month reference but lacks enough momentum to escape the middle of its recent range. The last session finished 0.2 percent lower, reinforcing the view that conviction remains fragile. It is sitting mid-range over the past month, which means neither side has secured control. The near-term bias is cautiously constructive above underlying support, but confirmation requires a convincing expansion through nearby resistance.
The macro backdrop matters mainly through shifting expectations for relative European and US monetary conditions, because EUR/USD responds directly when the expected policy and growth gap changes. Instrument-specific price action is more restrained: momentum is roughly 0.02 percent down over the last two weeks, showing that the recovery attempt has not yet attracted sustained follow-through. The one month average is 1.1198; price is above it, and the structure reads as a recovery attempt, back above the one-month average but still under the longer one. That tension explains why the pair can stabilize without yet looking decisively strong.
The first tactical pivot is 1.1200, because this nearer round number handle sits almost exactly beneath the last price and therefore separates a stable recovery from renewed short-term pressure. Holding above it keeps 1.1198 supportive and preserves the attempt to build higher. Resistance is defined by the month swing high at 1.1275, about 0.7 percent above the current price, because that is where the latest advance previously met enough supply to stop. A decisive move above 1.1275 would therefore represent a genuine change in range behavior, not merely another test.
Beyond that barrier, 1.1400 is the next nearer round number handle, because it would test whether strength can persist after the month high is cleared. The broader map is the three month range from 1.1114 to 1.1715, which means any move inside those boundaries remains part of a larger consolidation until an edge is seriously challenged. On the downside, a shelf of support at 1.1114, about 0.8 percent below, matters because it is both the lower boundary of that range and the last clear defense against a deeper deterioration.
The bull path is straightforward: if 1.1200 and 1.1198 continue to hold, then repeated pressure on 1.1275 becomes more credible because the market would be accepting value above its recent average. If a decisive move above 1.1275 follows, it opens the path toward 1.1715, with 1.1400 serving as the first test of durability. The bear path begins if 1.1200 fails and price cannot recover 1.1198, because that would turn the apparent recovery into another rejected push. If weakness then reaches and loses 1.1114, it exposes 1.1000 and confirms that downside range expansion has replaced stabilization.
The main risk to the constructive view is renewed dollar strength or a widening policy divergence, because either could prevent EUR/USD from converting stability into upside progress. The read is invalidated on a sustained loss of 1.1114, while the bearish case is invalidated by acceptance above 1.1275 and strengthening through 1.1400. Net, 1.1202 supports a cautious recovery bias, but only a decisive clearance of resistance would justify treating it as more than a mid-range rebound.
Key levels: support 1.1114 (0.8% below), resistance 1.1275 (0.7% above), one-month average 1.1198, three-month range 1.1114 to 1.1715.
