US Dollar Index (DXY) – Daily Read

8 November 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$102.30

The US Dollar Index is pressing higher with a constructive but not yet fully confirmed breakout profile. Last price 102.30 and last session change: 0.7 percent higher show that dollar demand has regained control, while its position in the upper half of its one-month range keeps pressure on the range ceiling. The clear view is that upside continuation remains more likely while nearby support holds, because the advance is broad enough to challenge the recent extreme but still needs confirmation beyond it.

Macro context matters through shifting relative growth and policy expectations, which can quickly concentrate demand in the dollar when confidence elsewhere weakens. For this instrument, the more immediate catalyst is sustained acceptance above the one month average 101.96; price is above it, and the structure reads as a clean uptrend, price above both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum roughly 0.5 percent up over the last two weeks reinforces that interpretation because the latest rise extends an existing move rather than standing as an isolated session.

The month swing high 102.94, about 0.6 percent above the current price, is the key resistance because it marks the point where the market previously exhausted its advance and also defines the top of the three month range 98.56 to 102.94. A decisive move above 102.94 opens the path toward 104.00, with that nearer round number handle likely to attract profit taking and test whether the move can hold outside the established range. On the downside, 102.00 is the closest round number handle and should act as the initial support because holding above it would preserve the market’s current upper-range posture. A shelf of support at 101.10, about 1.2 percent below, is more important because it separates a routine pullback from meaningful structural damage. Losing 101.10 exposes 98.56, which would turn the current advance into a failed challenge of the range ceiling.

The bull path is straightforward: if 102.00 absorbs a pullback and price then clears 102.94 decisively, the market should have room to probe 104.00 because resistance would have shifted from a firm ceiling into a potential support zone. Continued acceptance there would confirm that the dollar is extending beyond its recent range rather than merely testing its boundary. The bear path begins if repeated attempts at 102.94 fail and 102.00 gives way; if that weakness then carries through 101.10, the next exposed reference is 98.56 because the entire recent support structure would have been surrendered.

The main risk to the constructive read is a sharp reversal in the relative macro expectations supporting the dollar, particularly if it coincides with rejection beneath 102.94. The thesis is invalidated by a sustained loss of 101.10 because that would break the sequence of higher support and reopen the full three month range 98.56 to 102.94. Net, the bias remains bullish above 102.00, strengthens materially above 102.94, and turns bearish below 101.10.
