Five Screens, Shown in Full

Does not pass. Business activity screen

TestFigureLimitWhat it meansStatus
Business activity Excluded Core business clean Business activity: Financials sector Fail

Five checks adapted from AAOIFI screening standards: business activity plus four balance-sheet ratios. All five must pass for ethical clearance. Every figure is arithmetic on public accounts, not judgement.

The Ethical Read

Why It Falls Short, in Plain English

FactSet does not clear the screen at the business-activity stage. It operates in conventional financial services, which the screen treats as interest-based, so the financial ratios are not the deciding factor here.

Read as at 2026-11-05. It updates when the underlying figures move, and past reads are kept below.

What the Numbers Say It Is Worth

The Fair Value Range

Our analysis reads Fair vs our fair value, as of 5 Nov 2026: it trades above our $310.99 fair value estimate, strong competitive moat, 6.30% revenue growth.

Price History & Projections

Where our models see it going: fair-value estimate $310.99, with a range of $244.48 to $407.47, dated to the 2026-11-05 screen.

The Business, in Plain Words

Data platform trips on ethics test

Every fund manager tapping a terminal for clean company data or portfolio numbers relies on a handful of specialist platforms that sit between raw filings and real decisions. FactSet built one of the stronger ones, with a genuine moat, 27 percent ROE, and 23 percent margins that most software names would envy. Yet the numbers still point to a pass.

We are staying away first because the business fails our ethical screen on activity grounds. That screen exists for exactly these cases, and no amount of operational quality overrides it. The modest 5 percent margin of safety at the current price and the 6 percent revenue growth simply do not change the call.

Analysts already see limited upside, with a median target below the current level and a hold rating across the board. Forward earnings sit at 13 times, which looks reasonable until you remember the ethical red line sits in front of any valuation debate. Analysis, not advice.
