Five Screens, Shown in Full

Full pass across all five screens. This security clears the Titan Ethical Standard: its business and its balance sheet both stay inside the lines.

The Business, in Plain Words

Energy Matting Rentals Hit a Cyclical Ceiling

Picture a contractor laying temporary floors only when the oil rigs are running flat out. NPKI sells and rents those floors, yet the shares already trade above our fair value with a negative margin of safety and a forward multiple of 23 times. Revenue growth of 16 percent and a 14 percent profit margin look respectable on paper, but they sit inside an industry that expands and contracts with energy spending rather than any durable advantage.

We therefore pass. The business clears our ethical screen without issue, yet the combination of unknown moat, modest 10 percent return on equity and a price well clear of intrinsic value leaves no margin for error. Three analysts may eye a higher target, but that does not change the arithmetic.

The real risk is the classic cyclical trap. Earnings can look strong near the top of an energy cycle, making any multiple appear reasonable until the next downturn arrives and peak profits disappear. Analysis, not advice.
