The Business, in Plain Words

Cybersecurity darling priced far beyond reality

Picture every boardroom fretting over the next ransomware hit and reaching for the name that tops every shortlist. CrowdStrike sits there, selling cloud delivered protection through a subscription model that has delivered 26% revenue growth. Yet the shares trade at 130 times forward earnings while the business posts a negative profit margin and zero return on equity.

We pass for two clear reasons that have nothing to do with whether the product works. The price sits 44% above our fair value of 113.99, and the ethical screen flags a failure on accounts receivable. Weak moat and unprofitable operations complete the picture. Analyst enthusiasm and an 188 median target do not change those facts.

Valuation risk remains the obvious danger, with any slowdown in new subscriptions likely to expose the gap between price and underlying performance. The ethical issue adds a further layer that cannot be ignored. Analysis, not advice.
