EUR/USD – Daily Read

10 October 2026 | Forex | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
1.1206

EUR/USD is pressing the lower edge of its recent range, and the balance of risk remains tilted downward until buyers prove they can reclaim lost ground. Last price is 1.1206, 0.1 percent lower on the day, leaving the pair down near the floor of its one-month range. That matters because trading near a range floor after sustained weakness is not automatically a bargain. It is a test of whether demand can absorb continued selling before a contained decline becomes a broader breakdown.

The macro backdrop is best understood as a contest between relative European and US resilience, policy expectations, and demand for dollar liquidity. Without a fresh catalyst that materially improves the euro side of that comparison, rallies are likely to meet supply from traders reducing exposure or selling into better levels. The one month average is 1.1342; price is below it, and the structure reads as a downtrend, price under both its one-month and longer averages. Momentum is roughly 1.5 percent down over the last two weeks, confirming that sellers have retained control rather than merely producing a single weak session. The month swing high is 1.1559, about 3.2 percent above the current price, which shows how much repair is required before the market can credibly claim that the decline has ended.

The immediate battle is around the nearer round number handle at 1.1200. Holding it would suggest that buyers are willing to defend the range floor and could force short-term sellers to cover. Failure to hold it would shift attention quickly to the shelf of support at 1.1166, about 0.4 percent below. That shelf is especially important because it is also the lower boundary of the three month range 1.1166 to 1.1715. It is therefore defended not just by nearby dip buyers, but by participants treating the wider range as intact. Losing 1.1166 exposes 1.1000 and would signal that the established range has failed, inviting continuation rather than another routine rebound.

The bull path begins if 1.1200 holds and price starts accepting trade above it. If buyers then recover 1.1342, the bearish structure would begin to soften, with the nearer round number handle at 1.1400 becoming the next meaningful test of whether demand can survive above former supply. If that recovery extends into a decisive move above 1.1559, it opens the path toward 1.1715. Such a sequence would turn the current range-floor test into a failed breakdown attempt and materially improve the euro’s position.

The bear path is simpler. If rebounds stall below 1.1342 and 1.1400, sellers retain control and pressure remains concentrated on 1.1200. If 1.1166 then gives way decisively, the move exposes 1.1000 and confirms that support has stopped absorbing supply.

The main risk to the bearish read is a sustained recovery through 1.1400 followed by acceptance above 1.1559. Until that happens, the net take is cautious and bearish: support may produce a bounce, but the burden of proof remains firmly on buyers.
