Crude Oil (WTI) – Daily Read

31 October 2026 | Commodity | Titan Macro Desk

Last Price
$102.95

WTI is extending a firm advance, with the last price at $102.95 after finishing 0.9 percent higher, and it is pressing the top of its one-month range. That matters because strength near a range ceiling tests whether the market can convert recent momentum into a broader breakout rather than simply exhaust itself at familiar supply. The clear view is constructive while price holds the nearby handles, but conviction should increase only after the range high gives way cleanly.

The move is being driven by persistent price strength within the commodity complex rather than a single macro headline, because WTI remains above its one-month average of $96.62 and above its longer averages, leaving the structure as a clean uptrend. Momentum is roughly 1.5 percent up over the last two weeks, which means the advance has been steady enough to establish control without yet putting meaningful distance between price and the range ceiling. This is important for crude specifically, where a sustained break can force participants positioned around a contained range to reassess exposure quickly.

The first immediate reference is $104.00, because that round number sits just beyond the month swing high at $103.92 and can concentrate both supply and breakout interest. The $103.92 high is about 0.9 percent above the current price, which means the market is close enough to challenge it without needing a large fresh impulse. Beneath spot, $102.00 is the nearest handle that should act as initial support because holding it would show that shallow weakness is being absorbed. The one-month average at $96.62 is the more meaningful trend support, while the shelf at $86.86, about 15.6 percent below, separates an orderly pullback from structural damage. The wider three-month range of $70.77 to $105.63 shows why the upper zone matters: WTI is approaching the boundary of a much larger balance, not merely a one-month extreme.

The bull path is straightforward: if WTI makes a decisive move above $103.92, then acceptance above $104.00 would confirm that former resistance is becoming support and open the path toward $105.63. Follow-through matters because a brief push that immediately falls back below $103.92 would look more like rejection than expansion. The bear path begins if $102.00 fails and cannot be recovered, which means attention would shift toward $96.62 as the test of trend integrity. If that average also gives way, pressure could deepen toward $86.86; losing $86.86 exposes $70.77 because the established support shelf would no longer contain the decline.

The main risk to the constructive read is failed acceptance above $103.92, especially if rejection is followed by a loss of $102.00 and sustained trade beneath $96.62. That sequence would invalidate the idea that pressure near the highs reflects build-up of strength, because it would instead show supply controlling each attempted extension. Conversely, strength above $104.00 that holds would reduce near-term reversal risk. Net, WTI remains bullish at $102.95, but the decisive evidence is still ahead: hold the nearby support and clear the month high, or lose the trend supports and concede that the range ceiling has held.
