NVIDIA (NVDA) – Daily Read
28 August 2026 | Stock | Titan Macro Desk
$217.55
NVIDIA is in a meaningful pullback, not yet a broken uptrend. The last price is $217.55, 4.6 percent lower on the day, and the immediate message is that sellers have seized control after the stock failed to sustain its recent strength. Even so, it is holding in the upper half of its one-month range, which matters because the decline has weakened the near-term structure without erasing the broader pattern of higher prices. The clear view is cautious near term but constructive at depth, with the next response around nearby support likely to determine whether this is consolidation or the start of a larger unwind.
The macro backdrop offers little help into the weekend. Hotter than expected inflation prints in France and Spain lifted near-term European rate expectations, yet EURUSD and GBPUSD both fell over half a percent as the dollar gained ground. Japanese labour data held steady while Tokyo CPI showed modest upside, keeping the BoJ policy path intact. That leaves the broader regime balanced, but a firmer dollar can still pressure high-duration growth stocks by tightening financial conditions at the margin. For NVIDIA specifically, the sharper issue is positioning and profit-taking after a strong run. The stock is roughly 3.4 percent down over the last two weeks, confirming that selling pressure predates the latest session rather than reflecting a single isolated shock.
The one month average is $218.05; price is below it, and the structure reads as a pullback, slipping under the one-month average while the longer trend still points up. Reclaiming that area would show that buyers are absorbing supply, but failure to recover it keeps rallies vulnerable. The nearer round number handles at $220.00 and $215.00 frame the immediate contest. $220.00 is the first level buyers need to retake to restore control, while $215.00 is the nearby line sellers must break to extend the decline. Above, the month swing high is $230.47, about 5.9 percent above the current price, and represents the supply ceiling that halted the latest advance. Below, a shelf of support at $191.52, about 12.0 percent below, is the more important structural defence. The three month range is $190.01 to $236.54, placing that shelf close to the lower boundary where longer-horizon buyers should become more active.
If NVIDIA holds $215.00, reclaims $218.05, and then establishes itself above $220.00, the bull path is a recovery toward $230.47. A decisive move above $230.47 opens the path toward $236.54, with the breakout signalling that the pullback has reset positioning without damaging demand. If $215.00 fails and rebounds cannot recover $218.05, the bear path becomes a deeper retracement toward $191.52. Losing $191.52 exposes $190.01 and would shift the structure from an orderly pullback toward a broader range breakdown.
The main risk to the constructive view is persistent dollar strength combined with continued selling in growth stocks. The bearish read is invalidated by a decisive recovery through $230.47, while the broader bullish case is invalidated if $191.52 gives way. Net, NVIDIA remains in an uptrend under pressure, with $215.00 governing the near-term tape and $191.52 defining whether the larger structure survives.
