The Business, in Plain Words

Under Armour's Numbers Tell a Clear Story

Picture a runner still paying top dollar for last season's kit while their form slips. Under Armour sits in exactly that spot. Revenue is already shrinking, margins sit at minus ten per cent, and return on equity is deeply negative, yet the shares trade at thirty times forward earnings and nearly double our fair value.

We pass for the simplest reason. The price offers no margin of safety, the business shows no growth, and the market's hold rating plus six-dollar median target already price in modest hopes. Nothing in the numbers suggests the gap will close in the company's favour.

Apparel cycles can turn quickly, and a loss-making balance sheet leaves little room for error when consumer spending slows. Ethical screen passes, yet that alone does not move the valuation needle. Analysis, not advice.
